I have never taken more than 5 rolls of film when I have gone to Disney but I see all the digital posts of over 400 pics so what do you take pictures of at the parks that you might not have taken with a regular camera, or is your family just really photogenic?

I tend to take more photos with my Digital than with my regular camera just because I can. I am not paying for the film or developing and any unwanted photos can just be deleted.

That said many scrapbookers take different photos to fill in the gaps or tell a story about a specific event that way they can cut down on journaling.

Also I tend to take more than one of a the same thing that way I can sort through and get the best shot and nothing is lost. This is especially good for people pictures – not closed eyes, look always; you just keep shooting until you get a photo you like.

I also tend to take more silly pictures for the same reasons.

Every picture you take with a regular camera costs at least $0.20 regardless of what it actually looks like. You are unconsiously trained to limit the pictures you take because of the costs associated with regular pictures. With a digital camera it costs practically nothing (it only costs a little battery life) to take a picture. Instead of thinking "Is this picture worth taking?" like you would when taking pictures with a regular camera you start to think in terms of "Is there any chance that I would ever want to see this picture in the future?".

So, to answer your question, it is a psychological phenomenon and it doesn't take long before you adjust to being a snap-happy digital camera user.

My sister had a digital on our last trip, I had a regular camera. We took the same amount of pictures.

I take a LOT of pictures with my digital that I never plan to make a print of.....usually things I want to show someone else.

For instance on this upcoming trip I'll take photos of the hotel room and lobby etc that I normally wouldn't take. I'll show my mom, my friends etc and then delete them.

The best photos, I'll make prints of.

I do the same thing someone already mentioned, take several shots to ensure there is a great one.

The fact that it isn't costing anything encourages you to take more photos.

That is the whole purpose and blessing of having a digital camera.....you can take pictures of everything.

I start taking pictures from the time we leave home. Those are called the Journey To pictures (towncar pickup from home, airport, towncar to WDW). I have to get a shot of my daughter's face as she sees WDW off in the distance... priceless.

I have someone take a picture with the towncar driver at the MCO airport. I take pictures of our hotel room including bathroom before we mess it up!

Okay...I will stop here but I take a lot of pictures. Plus I get the option of deleting the ones I don't like and that rarely happens. Most of the ones I delete are from people walking into of the camera even thou they see I am trying to take a picture.

Go digital and click away!!!!
