If cruise gets cancelled

Not completely because if I did have the full 15 months to pick from if would not be a issue anyway but the pregnancy takes a lot of that time away. And a choice of two months is not suitable, not to mention the cruise we may want to do may not be during that two months. So it's a bit of everything but I'll see what dcl say 😃
We're actually in the same boat, so to say, with the difference that I can't actually make our originally booked cruise because of the pregnancy, we're waiting till PIF to see if they'll cancel

I wondering what happens if you use the 125% credit and then The next cruise gets cancelled

That doesn't seem fair though if we have a baby and the baby can't travel because it's to young

None of this is fair. To anyone. I've lost airfare that I'm not going to be able to use (that I got a "credit" for and it wasn't 125% like Disney is offering and the airline isn't offering me 100% credit back). It's not like Disney isn't willing you give you 100% (AKA ALL YOUR MONEY) back. It seems a teensy bit selfish to say that it's not fair that Disney won't give you another 25% OF THEIR MONEY THAT THEY ARE LOSING in a timeframe that fits within your life situation. We can't use it either because we literally can't cruise again in the next 15 months due to other life situations/commitments/work stuff. But I don't plan on asking for an exception to an already generous offer.

I'm sorry about the crappy timing for you (and me!!), and in terms of your baby, mazel tov and I hope you enjoy your new bundle of joy and I hope we are all able to cruise again soon!

Once your cruise is cancelled, if a credit is offered, Disney will automatically roll it over to the credit for future use in the timeframe they give you. If you want a refund, they will do that up to 100% of what you paid (not the total on credit, if you were given more). If you book a future cruise, you will have until the normal PIF for that cruise to cancel and get your money back.

In my case, I booked all of us on a cruise for next March because it was selling out and there was no other date that worked for us. I have until next October to change my mind and cancel all or any one of the members in my rooms.

As for it "not being fair", tell me how it's fair that my son, who is off to university next year and thus has a differing schedule from the rest of us, will have to cancel because we can't use ours in the summer (our 15 months expires in mid-June). A July or Aug cruise would have allowed him to go with us. A May or June cruise means his high school brother can't cruise.

We all have circumstances that are not convenient. And can I say, how is it "fair" that my son will be missing his prom and convocation because of a "shelter in place" order for the rest of the season and may actually miss out on the rest of his education? How is it fair that he might lose out on a lucrative spot on a university sports team because his skills are wasting away? How is it fair that people who are healthy are dying within 2 weeks of getting this "thing"? And how is it fair that we are all worrying about our loved ones and their safety, not sleeping at night because we don't know how we will wake up - healthy or sick?

Nothing about this virus is "fair". We are all making choices to the best of what we can, including Disney and DCL. If the credits won't work for you, take the refund and rebook for when you can travel. You won't be out any money, just the bonus "deal" you would have gotten with the credits.

Worrying about what’s fair as far as cruise travel seems to be really disregarding current world events.

it’s entirely possible that the next round of cancellations won’t be offering any credit beyond what was originally paid.

I'm going to but it will be cancelled with out a doubt

You can always call, but I really doubt that a phone agent will be willing to discus hypothetical with you until your cruise is officially cancelled. I would say wait till you get your email because the situations are continuing to change as time goes on.

The phone agent isn't allowed to discuss hypotheticals. Disney policy is that until a cancel is announced, you talk as though everything is peachy, period.

Ugh I have a feeling I’ll be able to tell you that answer soon.... I was supposed to have cruised the Disney Magic in March 14 and rebooked the Disney Fantasy May 2 with my 150% cruise credit.... I did have to put out more money because the cruise credit is just for the voyage fare not grats or taxes and port fees those get refunded back.... I will wait until they cancel me for this one too but I would assume I wouldn’t get anymore additional cruise credit issued to me.... just a refund or a new date that I’ll either pay more $$$ for or an OBC if the cruise is less $$$.... but I pray that we find a vaccine for this crap and I end up completing my grand slam cruise! Be safe all!!

Do you think ANYONE has the full 15 months to choose from? Most people will have dates that they absolutely cannot go, many of them large blocks of dates. Why do you think your reason is anymore important than those of everyone else?

Honestly, what do you expect DCL to do? Make an exception just for you? Extend it out another 3 months (but then you'd only have 5 months to choose from)? But what about the people that need just a couple of more weeks (for whatever great reason)? Did you want DCL to take each case on an individual basis with no set policy? You must see that DCL needed to use some sort of a cutoff date and, frankly 15 months from when you were supposed to sail is far more generous than airlines give. And if you dont like that time frame in which they are willing to give you a little something extra, you can always just take a cash refund. Not every cruise line is offering that option for cancelled cruises.

Its a little unfair to everyone. Which is usually indicative of a well struck deal.
