Have they always done this or is it something new within the last 3 years? I ask because during our first DLR visit we stayed 1 night at DLH and then moved over to VGC for the rest of our stay and Disney wouldn't move our bags for us, we had to walk our bags to VGC and give them to Bell Services after we checked into that resort. We are heading to DLR next week and this time we are staying 1 night at PPH and then moving over to VGC for the rest of our stay, I just assumed we would have to do the same thing as before. Our original plan was to walk the bags over to VGC before our Surf's Up breakfast, which is at 7am, and then head back over to PPH for breakfast before heading into DCA for the day, but if Disney will move the bags for us, that would be awesome because it would make our morning a lot easier on us .
I believe it is hit-or-miss. This question comes up a few times a year, and largely the answer is that they will NOT, but occasionally someone pops in with a "they did it for us!"

Thank you for the reply. I think we will go ahead and walk our luggage over to VGC regardless because we have to check into the resort anyways, we will just give Bell Services our luggage and then head back to PPH for our breakfast. Lucky for us we live in the Central Time Zone so we will all be up bright and early anyways, since this will be our first full day, and our bodies will still be adjusting to the time change.
They did it for us two years ago when we moved from the PPH to GCH. We did have to take our luggage down to the lobby; they wouldn't pick it up from the room. Just check with them when you check in if you're concerned so you know ahead of time.
I bet people who have had luck with this are moving from one Disney resort hotel to another (DLH to PPH). I think you're smart to assume they won't help moving to an off-site hotel.
