I've been stalking the ADR site for months trying to get an 'Ohana ADR for any of 3 different days during our trip. Every day I see the same "No Tables Available"... and then today, all that stalking finally paid off!!!

pixiedust:

I just scored a 5:05 on the day I REALLY wanted it!

Since I already told the kids we didn't get an ADR, this is going to be a WONDERUL surprise for them!

Now, I'm going to stop stalking the ADR site and let some other wonderful DISser find a great ressie to make their trip wonderful!

:goodvibes

Congrats on your ressie....it pays to stalk the site! I have been checking like crazy for weeks myself for CRT, hopin' some pixie dust comes my way! You give me hope:cool1:

Congrats!!! Hooray!!! i'm so happy to hear that it can happen! Can I ask how far out it is? I'm in the same boat. Not-so-patiently waiting ;) we leave soon & I've been trying for months (pretty obsessively I must add)

Yay for pixie dust!!!! That's so exciting!!! I've been stalking the reservations and finally stumbled upon a reservation for Ohana last night but lost it because the site froze up on me. :sad2: I was SO disappointed!!! I'm feeling like I might have used up my shot at pixie dust but you give me hope!!!

Just 12 days out to the ADR (we leave Monday morning). I think a lot of people still cancel at the last minute even with the ADR credit card hold, so keep checking!!!!

I'm so sorry!! I don't think loss of a ressie counts as using up your pixie dust... here's wishing you some extra!

Just a tip I've found useful the past couple days while making ADRS. Every time it says server or busy or something HIT THE BACK BUTTON ONCE and do it again (in the process of making a reservation) it might take 5 to 10 tries but it will go through. Hope this helps!!

I hear that, I just managed to snag a spot for the Wishes Dessert Party 2 weeks out after a month of daily clicking! (It helps that I work in front of a computer...)

Just keep trying!

I've had a lot of luck over the years getting the odd ADR late at night, but the 'Ohana I just got was at 4:30 in the afternoon. People cancel ADRs all the time, so it's really just a matter of luck.

Its been widely reported that the number of guests matters, that it's easier to book an even number party, so if you have an odd number bump it up by one and then call to drop the extra. BUT I don't know if that's true. This trip I needed either 11 or 5 (normally we're just 6 so I've never tested the theory). Each time I searched for this trip, I searched first for 5, and then for 6 (or 11 then 12) but I never saw any difference in the search results.

Urban legend? Maybe, but it only took a few seconds to run the 2nd search, so it seemed worth it.

I have bookmarks on my toolbar of the specific restaurant ADR pages I'm looking for {date/meal filled in} so it's easy to open/run/close each time I opened my browser.

Congratulations! Checking constantly generally works, especially once you get closer. We are trying to swap Kona and 1900 for two separate mornings but haven't found a 1900 reservation yet so we just keep checking several times a day

So glad you kept searching! I have always gotten what I want, even when I am late to the party, because I keep searching up til the very last minute! Good job!!!

For those who have made dining ressies today, Did you get an email confirmation? I 'thought' I made one for Christmas Eve but it never showed up on MDE or email. So I made another and it isn't showing up either. For the first one, my computer glitched out so wasn't sure if it actually went thru or not.
Guess I will have to call and confirm. :confused3

I believe there is some truth to this. I've been trying to get an early ressie for LTT on a party night in Dec. so that we could enjoy a nice meal before the festivities. We're a party of 3 and nothing was showing up in the system for the longest time, so I decided to take this advice and bumped the number of people to 4. A 6:50 p.m. time came up (which didn't show up under 3). I didn't book it, however, because I didn't want our dinner to run into the party time.

From what I gather, if you do book a ressie for more people than in your party, you need to call to drop the extra number? Can you simply show up the day of with less people than the original ressie? Is there a limit as to how many you can drop? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure things out so I can plan better in the future! :thumbsup2
