If any of you found a little lost two year old at Animal Kingdom yesterday

So glad she is safe, we have been there ourselves. One thing I always tell friends when going to WDW is take a photo of each child each morning before heading out to the parks either with digital camera or phone. This way if they get separated, it is easy to show a cast member what they look like and exactly what they are wearing. Once the day is complete, simply delete photo and start again the next day. It really helps because we all know that when our child is missing, we can be so focused on finding them, we forget the little details that help others help us.

we did the photo thing too when kids were little. we also used to write our cell phone number on our kids' upper inside arm so if they got lost (where it wouldn't show), they could tell a staff member to "call my mom" and have my cell number.

wow, that is like home alone, at disney. i would have been pretty upset myself for that gaffe.

i agree that there is probably not a safer place to go missing as a child than disney. before i went, i was chatting to a young man at quizno's about our upcoming holiday (it was in the mall where the passport office was). while making my sub, he warned me if we were taking kids as there was a kidnapping scam at disney. people were working as a twosome, taking a kid and then the other "partner in crime" would stand nearby when parent figured out child was missing and step in and say "i will watch your child... hurry go get help" and kidnap THAT child. now they have BOTH your kids.

i paused and told him i would be super-careful and thanked him for the head's up. i did mention it sounds pretty scary, i am surprised i didn't hear anything in the news about that. you would think that would be newsworthy. he told me disney is a big, powerful company. they have paid to keep it covered up. so there, you all have been warned!
Oh, please.

No, there is not a scam going around Disney, where they kidnap your two kids. There just isn't.

I get so tired of people believing these urban legends, about Disney or anything else.

No, people are not kidnapping your kids at Disney; no, Barney wasn't arrested for child abuse and no, neither was Mr Rogers.

That poster didn't believe the story. It was posted to make us laugh. :goodvibes

So glad she was found. This happened to us when we took our 5 year old triplet to Disney World 4 years ago. I had all three kids and turned to talk to one of my girls and my son let go of his sister hand and was gone. We found him about 5 minutes later and I was never so thankful in my life. We immediately told a CM and a man overheard me and said he had seen my son and led us right to him. My son never even knew he was gone. I will say to parents what helped find my son so quickly was his hat was distinctive and that is what the man remembered. It also helps to take a picture of what your child is wearing that day, as being able to give a good description of what your child is wearing when you are upset can be difficult.

LOL. I remember my high school drama teacher telling me that story almost thirty years ago, except the setting was Disneyland. Amazing how those urban legends never fade away.
