If already own VGC would you add points at VDH for the longer term ? VDH expires 2070 while VGC expires 2060?

I already own 170 points VGC but they expire in 2060. Would you recommend to add on points at VDH because they expire 2070? VDH points have increased $9 a point do you think VDH will
Go higher even with the added tax ?

Hard to answer this question. Do you want to stay at VDH? How old will you bee in 2060, which is 26 years out?

26 years?

My calculator shows 36 years…. at which time I will be nearly 80 years old and my youngest will be in his mid 40s…. long enough to have had time to had grandkids and take them on some Disney trips….

I will be 72 years old. Seems young to have expired dvc stays ? I don’t know many 72 year olds

Given the mobility issues I see in my parents, my in-laws, and my aunts/uncles who are in their 70s…. there is a big difference between being in your 60s and being in your 70s….

There is a reason they want single level homes and to avoid stairs….

You seem to be very smart about your decisions, looking at the different financial aspects. I think that's great and should be considered. But so should your happiness. A lot can happen in 36 years, much less 46 years  Buy where you want to stay. Buy where you will be happy.

Thank you! Yeah I’ve been crunching numbers. I liked a persons response on another thread how you cannot compare the amount spent in dvc contracts to like investments because vacations you take are not the same as putting that money in the stock market or buying more properties etc. it’s more like just prepaying vacation trips. I think that helped me in being okay with dropping 70k in a year for dvc contracts hahaha it’s quite a bit of money and I know my husband is like we could have used that for a deposit on a rental property or keep it in other investment vehicles which will increase with time in the next 30+ years but I wouldn’t have those years of vacations ! I mean, I’d still vacation but I know myself I wouldn’t feel right dropping $1k a night at a Disney hotel but I’d be okay dropping 70k 😂 my mathing … lol

Yes, I work in healthcare and seen so many patients code and die. All ages. So it’s sort of given me different priorities such as spending more quality time with my family and carving out special moments. I like Disney because of all their changes with the different seasons and it’s never the same.
