Idiots' guide to the new Fastpass system?

we had 14 day ultimates last august during the first test of FP+

at the time, i didn't link the tickets to our MDE account as i was told by the techies at disney not to do it as they were afraid what might happen.
So i wasn't able to book any FP+.

from what i've read in this post, i assume that problem has been overcome, correct?
that is, you can now link the 14/21 day ultimates to MDE. Right?

RE : Annual Passholder Fastpass+

"If you are a Passholder who is staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check-in—for the entire length of your hotel stay."

From the Disney site.

That is only if you are staying at a Disney hotel though - AP holders who are not staying onsite are limited to 7 days' FP+ bookings at a time.

But, are onsite AP holders also limited to 14 days at a time like other guests, or is it really "length of stay" ?
I ask because US maximum length of stay is 14 days when booked through Disney US

in the UK we can book for up to 21 days and hit the 14 days wall when it comes to booking FP+

I have no idea and, unfortunately, have not stayed at WDW for longer than 14 days since the new system was introduced in order to be able to test it (maybe next summer I can let you know ;) )

We could book 21 days in advance. First 14 days at 60 days out and the rest one day at a time thereafter.
