Ideas To Do Something 'Different'

Hello!
We're off to Orlando in May and every year we try to do something different.
Last year we did a hot air balloon ride, the year b4 discovery cove and before that canoeing at wekiva springs.
This yr we want to do somthing disney related and I just wondered if any of u guys have any ideas??
The only things we can think of are one of the tours!
Any ideas would be appreciated.

One of the tours sounds like a good idea to me. I have always wanted to do one of the behind the scene tours.
Also you get a little more time with cast members during this time to ask questions.
In the past I have loved having a little time to talk to a cast member in the park and ask questions. You learn so much. One year ( a long time ago) we learned that Tink who flies down from the castle (there were three then) were the highest paid employees of the park. Just some fun little trivia.

Aw cool! I love little trivia facts! Little details like that is what makes Disney so special!
We are definitely considering one of the tours, but if we do go ahead with one, the next question is which one??!! lol!

we did the keys to the kingdom at mk tour very interesting . you need to remember though this cost you an admission to the park.

There are age limits as well if you are going with kids. Even though my DD is 14, she's still too young for the tour that takes you underground at MK. Bummer as far as the rest of us are concerned.

Another option to consider--why not do the Victoria and Albert's experience in dining. I've heard from friends that this is unbelievable!! DH and I will be doing this when the nest is empty.

There's a book of Hidden Mickeys. You could have a competition in your group to see who can find the most, or you can just have fun searching them out. Even if you've been to the parks many times, you'll be amazed how many there are that you never noticed.

You could try having Gifts of a lifetime organize a scavenger hunt through one of the parks. I've never used them, but everything I've heard indicates that they do a great job with that sort of thing.

After all of these years wondering about them we used Jane and Gifts of A Lifetime last week. It was a great experience.

The Keys to the Kingdom tour is awsome! you spend time both on and back stage. The time spent in the utililators (spelling?) is very brief. Lunch is included at the Columbia Harbor House. It is a great way to find out lots of neat Disney info. I felt really bad for our tour guide, I must have asked a thousand questions! She was great, and you could tell she loved her job.

During our visit last December, we decided to rent the "Breathless" for a water tour of Crescent Lake, which included an up-close view of Illuminations. It was pricey ($180) but it was fun and a very unique Disney experience.

How about being one of the scuba divers or snorkelers in the Coral Reef restaurant tank!! To scuba you must be certified but there is nothing required to snorkel. My hubby is looking into doing this when we go in December and I think it sounds pretty neat. The kids and I might try to time lunch while he is in the tank, lol.

We also try to do new things each time. I usualy get a list togeather of new things that can be done on the sper of the moment and some that need reservations. We spend weeks talking about what to do and thats part of the fun, building excitement. We did the behind the scenes tour in EPCOT and loved it. Learned lots of trivia about the buildings etc. that realy continue to add to our enjoyment of that park. We are all over the map when it comes to new things. Everything from a charrage ride at FW to V and A dinner to miniture golf to organizing a desert party to view illuminations to progressive dinners on the monorale resorts to spa treatments to Cirque to trying a new ride we are both terrified of, Misssion to Mars and Test Track come to mind. Have a great time and continue to check these bds. All of my best ideas have come from these great people.

P.S. Try renting points from a DVC'r and staying in a 1 bd room with a soaking tub and washer/dryer. Its a total treat.

Try getting haircuts on Main Street in the MK. My DH and DS did it this past summer. It was fun, spur of the moment and didn't require reservations. Both had Pixie Dust sprinkled in their hair! It was lot's of fun, Michel (sp?) is great!

How about the new Segway experience in EPCOT.

I'd go for the surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon! It's early, but where else can you try this without sharks involved!!!!!
