Ideas Please! Telling Hubby You're Prego!

My best friend JUST found out she's pregnant and wants to think of a cute/unique way to tell her husband. I'm doing a web search for ideas and thought I'd throw a plea for your suggestions here at the DIS! Thanks to any who reply!

I always said I was going to surprise my parents with buying them world's greatest grandparents shirts. Of course this will only work if it's her first!

My only advice is to make it VERY obvious, or he probably won't get it. I got my DH a book about having a pregnant wife, and I put the positive test stick in the package, too. He was still confused.

For my third pregnancy, I bought a bib that said something like I love my daddy, and some other baby things and gave it to him in a gift bag.

I can't remember where I read this, but I thought it was sooooooo cute!

When DH comes home, tell him you were shoe shopping today. Usually, he'd just roll his eyes etc., but then go on and on on how cute they were, you had to buy 2 pairs. Again, he'll probably just ignore you, so run into the bedroom, and bring out two pairs (one boy, one girl) of baby shoes.

I love that idea, I just wish I could remember where I heard it (I think it was on this board)

ok do you remember on Full House when Rebecca had to tell Jessy that she was prego. she made a whole meal of "baby" food. Baby carrots Baby something or other etc... sorry i'm not a mom so I dunno...

what about cup cakes and each one pink or blue iceing ??

When I found out I was pregnant with my first born, I took the Clear Blue Easy thing (with the blue + sign and all), wrapped it in tissue paper and stuck it in a gift bag. I gave it to him and when he opened it, he was so shocked he fell backwards!! LOL

I gave dh a book about becoming a father. He got it right away

Gave my parents a book about becoming grandparents, took them a few to catch on, but the confused look changing into a look of shock and joy was all too worth it.

My bro and SIL sent my parents notecard from the baby to tell them.

Is your friend a Carolina fan (I see you are in North Carolina). My dad is a Chapel Hill alum, so I cross-stitched a poem for him and gave it to him:

When I'm an old alumnus
With a grandchild on my knee,
I'll teach him that the alphabet
Begins with UNC

That was me! It worked really well - he was extra annoyed at first because we'd been having all these conversations about budgeting and how many pairs of shoes I had.

If he was involved in making this baby, he might already know that it is a possibility. I guess I'm not a romantic, but my guy would be right there in the bathroom with me, watching the stick to see if there are two lines.

Wouldn't it be great to find out together???

I like the shoe idea, though. That is really cute!
