I just got news today that the family that i babysit for is going to be taking me to Disney for a week in April (this family also took me last year). I was trying to think of something that I could do before hand to give to the boys..or to the parents as a thank you for taking me again!
I am very close with this family and love them like they are my family..I will be babysitting the boys a couple nights so that the parents can go out..i have NO ideas..any ideas?
thanks!

Perhaps you could present them with an empty scrapbook with some Disney embelishments and papers, etc. It would be a lot of fun to take pictures and collect souvenirs for the book while you're on vacation. Either they could fill it upon return, or it could be a project for all of you. You could include a special Thank You page.

that is a great idea,,but i know they dont have the time to do that when they get home...i would love to do something like that--but i dont live near them anymore and i wont have the pictures of them..

thanks for the ideas!

ideas!

www.wdwflorist.com (i believe that is the website) u can order an arrival basket, maybe one for the parents and one for each child? (i love the one that comes with the mickey ears, and it includes an autograph book, a pen, snacks, etc)

you could also make dining plans at a dinner show, and treat them all to a fun night (ie hoop dee doo revue)

or u can surprise them with reservations on one of the boats to watch the fireworks at night.

if u get the children each an autograph book, u can bring a camera and take a picture of each of them with the character...after the trip u can develop the pics and send them to the children to add to their autograph books, beside the autograph...then its like a mini scrapbook for the kids without the work and fuss!

whata great guesture on their part, and its nice of you to want to thank them. have a great trip!

I don't know the boys' ages and I don't know your finances but have you looked into getting them onto a Pirates Cruise? There are several options now. The Grand Floridian and the Caribbean Beach ones. There is also a new one (maybe?) at Port Orleans. My granddaughter absolutely loved her time on the Grand Floridian one.

If not that, start saving up quarters and pennies and take the boys on pressed penny hunts while their parents have time to themselves.

For the parents, I think a very heartfelt thank you card will go a heck of a long way. If you can, get it autographed by some characters during your stay. Present it to the parents on the way home.

Thank you so much for your ideas!!
I love the idea of just a nice card for the mom and dad--i know they would appreciate that..
I am nervous signing them up for anything because during the day, we all go out together..

I think i may try to get the mickey ears with the kids names on them and wrap them and give it to them on the plane..

Thanks!

Thought of another idea we did for our granddaughter. Go to your local dollar store. They usually will have Disney stuff like pencils and notepads. Get some of these, wrap them individually and then put them into a bag. Each child can then pick one present per hour on the plane, in the car/bus/van to the hotel, and then every morning before heading out. You can even have the adults join in. I did expand the choices for our family - I included a bunch of NASCAR stuff.
