Please give me some ideas for our last day. Our flight leaves at 7pm.
We will be traveling with a nearly 2 and 3 year old.

We would like to sleep in and take our time getting around this last morning- any thoughts what to do afterwards? Should we hit a park? A character meal? Typhoon Lagoon? Last year our plane left early so this wan't an issue. I want to have *FUN* until we have to leave, but I don't want to feel rushed or miss the plane!!

ideas :confused3

What I always end up doing on my final day/travel day, if I have time, is head to DownTown Disney and buy souvineers for everyone back home. It's always fun to go there and just window shop too. :teeth:

We usually do DTD also, but with that much time I might go back to MK for half day. That's what we are doing for our trip in July. We will be there 5 days and a 6 day ticket is only $2 more, so we will go back to whichever park my DD decides on our day of departure! We have friends who do a character breakfast on their way out of town to stretch the magic a little further.

I would suggest spending a half a day in a park of your choice. Make it Magical! :cool1:

When we have an evening flight we always go to magic kingdom for the last day. If we have a morning or early afternoon flight we finish our trip with breakfast at Chef Mickeys!

The last couple of times we've had a late flight, we've gone to MK for the morning, it's been truly magical!!

We've had similarly late flights our last 2 trips and we've gone to Animal Kingdom both times and it was great! We even got to see the parade before heading back to the hotel.

we have a similar flight time on our last day (6:45). i've scheduled Crystal Palace for breakfast, then we will do the MK for a few hours, or go hit one of the other parks if there is something we missed. It will be our last chance to catch up on anything we missed so i left it kinda open as far as which park. Then we will spend a few hours at DTD, with a late lunch around 2pm at Earle. Then off to the airport by about 4 or 4:30 since we need to return our car.

Our flight home leaves at 6:30 PM. I have a half day planned at MK, but I'm flexible in case there is something else our family really wants to see or do one more time.

Don't forget, if you're taking Magical Express, they pick you up 3 hours before your flight time! :)

Thank you all for the wonderful ideas!

We do have magical express ~ thank you for the 3 hour reminder! I may shell out a few bucks and just cab it so we don't have to leave 3 hours early...even just 2 would be better :)

If your flight is not until 7pm you'll have until at least 3pm... I would go to a park to revisit all the favorites!

If you had to leave by noon I would say a character breakfast

Our flight is not till 8:30 so we are having a nice breakfast then head to the parks. We figure we have till 5 or so- almost a whole day!

As far as a taxi to the airport, we were told it is about $50 so you might want to reconsider that Magical Express...LOL

Well, since you are staying at the Grand Floridian, what a beautful resort to want to extend your stay. You already have 5 days planned, as mentioned, adding a 6th day isn't a lot more. Perhaps you could "cut back" on one of your other days and plan to do it on the 6th so that the trip overall has a relaxing pace.

Have you considered doing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party earlier in your stay?

I'm not sure if there is enough at Typhoon Lagoon to keep your kids entertained.

Looks like you are already doing a couple character meals? But if you want a really low-key day I guess sleep in, eat at the Grand Floridian, hang out and enjoy the resort pool. You could rent a pontoon boat that you could take the kids out on the lake and make sure you return home well rested.

see which park has early EMH hours on the day you leave....

we try to start and finish off with MK...it's just the best place on earth!!

we are staying at the Grand, but we are only planning on 3 days at the parks...it gets to be to much otherwise with our babies. We really try to pack in all the fun we can, but they are still very young and tire quite easily. I wouldn't be opposed to adding one more park day on our departure...what a great way to wear them out for the flight home!! I have thought of the MNSSHP, but my kids are still a little young to appreciate it. I have considered Typhoon Lagoon...I don't know very much about that water park though.
Thanks again for the insight :)

Lots of great ideas here. Here is what we did in a similar situation.

One trip we went to Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary for a late breakfast :early in the am DH dropped off our bags to go to the airport, we had cereal 1st thing did then a bit of swimming then we cleaned up for the flight home. After an awesome time at Chef Mickey's we took a peaceful boat-ride over to Ft. Wilderness for a visit with the petting zoo. While we were there we got a chance to watch a beautiful WDW horse get shoed the old-fashioned way and both kids got a small pony ride for $4.00 each. Next we lounged and enjoyed the view as the kids played and rolled around in the sand. When we were done we took the boat back to the Polynesian and waited at the Monorail until we could ride in the front and had a nice long ride before getting off at the Polynesian for a stroll and my favorite coffee:) Next we jumped on a bus to the Disney Village Marketplace for a peaceful late lunch and some gift buying.

Other fun yet low-key options are exploring the other resorts for future trips, a movie at Downtown Disney's theatre, miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens or a visit to the Boardwalk for a meal.

I know lots of folks will disagree and prefer to spend every moment possible in the parks but my family finds flying a bit stressful so we try and keep flying days low key.

Have a great trip

I think you should make it a day that you do whatever you "feel" like doing. You may see in the week that the parks wear out your children, and so that may not appeal to you on the last day. Or, if you do a character breakfast in the park, you may want to hit only the highlight rides that you know your children really enjoyed. We like to eat a relaxing lunch, take pictures of our children all around our resort, take the monorail to other "photo ops", and just really take it all in for the last time. At any rate, I know you will have a magical vacation! Whatever you do will be memorable! princess:

EPCOT is probably my favorite park but I'm split between there and spending my last day in the MK. My mom and I did this a few years back. We kept it light, character breakfast at the beach club, shopping on Main Street, Pirates, had hats embroidered for my little cousins. We also went on an inpromptu tour of the monorail resorts since we'd never stayed in the MK area. This year we did downtown disney and had tea at the GF (FABULOUS).

You could spend time in the world showcase as it opened and stroll, eat and shop your way through the area before the afternoon crowds. Might even be able to then go to the MK once their crowds had subsided if you had the time.

Thank you all for such great ideas! This is so helpful :)
