Hi Everyone :wave2:
I currently work with a youth center and we are working on our arts and crafts programs. I have a ton of ideas...but was hoping to get it beyond 2 pages before our meeting on Thursday (1/22) Anything from beads, foam, paint, I'm taking any and all ideas. Her is the list that I have so far:

Pencil cups
Book Marks
Magnets
Paper Bag Scrapbooks
-mini albums
-tag albums
Sand Art
Place Mats
Vacation Journals
-Journal jars
-jourals
Wreaths
T-shirts
-tye dye
-fabric paint
Calenders
Boondoogle
Model Magic
Weekly planner boards
Valentine's Cards
Holiday Ornaments
Beads
-Clothes Line (to display pictures or cards)
-Charms
-ID holders
Design your own...
-Flip Flops
-Jewlery
-Planters

I need more! I know that there are so many mediums I am leaving out!!! Anything is fair game! It can even be a 2-3 day project. In the end, we would like the kids to leave with a completed project, and a sense of accomplishment.

Thank you in advance for your help!
:cheer2:

how about a mini quilt. My mom does some for her after school program. She cuts the squares out and each kid gets like 12 or so of them. She teaches them how to do a basic straight stitch. a lot of the boys are into it.

hershey kiss roses. Stack 2 kisses bottom to bottom, wrap in red cellophane, and adhere to a pencil using floral tape. Twist the cellophane and the top of the pencil in the floral tape.

puzzle piece picture frames, get used puzzles that are missing pieces and glue to a foam or wooden frame.

really really messy but fun. Yarn chicks and eggs.
blow up balloons and wrap with thin yarn dredged in watered down white glue. Wrap them but not fully covering the balloon. Do yellow yarn for the chicks and another color for the egg (we did purple variegated). 1 balloon will do 2 eggs cut in half after it dries. Let dry over night, pop the balloons and pull the pieces out . cut the eggs in 1/2 in a zig zag pattern. decorate the chicks with wings, a beak, eyes, and a feather on his head.

How about marbleizing paper also known as shaving cream dyeing?

It's very simple. Afterwards, you can use the papers for the various paper projects, like making journals, albums, cards. Use Setacolor paints and they can be the same paints/dyes you would use for tye dyeing clothes.

You can get the Setacolor paints/dyes at Dharma Trading. They give volume discounts. :thumbsup2

Wow I did not know that shaving foam could be used in this way - will try the paper with the kids at school, they can use it as a backing to enhance their projects. Thanks
