Ideas for Xmas Day dining?

Hi

Can anyone recommend a varied restaurant for all our family on Xmas Day?
Somewhere which can accommodate a vegetarian, meat lover, one who likes non spicy food, and a fish lover?? Ages 16 to 70!!

We aren't getting full Disney passes, so will be restricted to somewhere off site, or maybe in one of the Disney Hotels?

Any ideas?

We used to love Wolfgang Puck's, although we haven't been for a while. Its menu certainly fulfils all yours requirements. I'm not a vegetarian, but I quite like veggie dishes and some of these sound scrummy.

The Cheesecake Factory couldn't be accused of not catering to all tastes, but I'm not sure whether it's what you've got in mind for Christmas Day.

Despite all the rave reviews, Seasons 52 (at restaurant row on Sand Lake Road) had never really appealed. We happened to be up that way one lunchtime in January and went in on spec. It really is a gorgeous space and the food is delicious.

I can think of loads more if you want more suggestions!

We will have 7 family members and we fly back Boxing Day, so don't want to cook! I want it to be different, nice surroundings etc.. had thought about Ohana??

I would highly recommend Citricos at the Grand Floridian - and I am sure they would have something for everyone. It is one of the nicest meals we had on Christmas Day 2006 - our kids thoroughly enjoyed it too. They do a set menu with a number of choices of each course and it is just excellent

We have eaten at Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary for the last 2 Xmas days and my son wants to go back again this year. There is a wide range of food to suit everyone and the characters are alot of fun. Nothing like Xmas dinner in England of course but I am always amazed that its only $30. Can you imagine how much you would pay for Xmas dinner in England at a restuarant?

We have had the buffet at Hyatt grand cypress at Lake Buena Vista, excellent quality and seems to cater to your needs, think it was about $40 per head.

For Christmas Day, I can't think that anywhere could be more atmospheric than Wilderness Lodge, so Artist Point might be worth considering. Unfortunately the menu isn't inspired in its vegetarian offerings.

Jiko has a new chef and his new menu has received plaudits from Scott Joseph, the dining critic at the Orlando Sentinel.

Reading this with interest. We have been to CG at CR (that was really nice & we got to see the fireworks). Also been to Rainforest at AK. This year I am stuck.

Wondered about LTT at MK but then we would need to get in the park. The meal at Citrico's sounds nice - any idea what's on the menu for Xmas?

Can't seem to find a link to the menu anywhere and the memory isn't that good but here is an idea of what we got

Ok the price was approx $60 per adult, $20 per child (plus tax of course) - not cheap but we thought it was well worth it.

Starter: This was a plate of 3 small items and we just cannot remember what they were I do remember thinking I had to choose one of the 3 listed and was delighted to find out that you get all of them!

Main: There were about 5 choices including filet steak (I had this and it was delicious). DH cannot remember at all - just knows he wants to go back

Dessert: I think there were about 3 choices including ice-cream and a Disney speciality - DH does remember his dessert was decorated in the style of Disneys Year of a Million Dreams but that is it

Kids Meals: No fries to be seen To start there was soup or salad/veggie sticks. Main course included chicken tenders (but really good ones), think there was fish/salmon and also filet steak! Each came with fabulous creamed potato and veggies. For dessert it was 'make your own sundae' - dish of ice cream then little dishes with cookie bits, m&ms etc for the kids to add themselves.

Sorry we don't have better memories but we all know for sure that we want to go back as it was one of the best meals. After dinner we were able to stoll around the Grand Floridian with the Christmas band playing and the smell of the gingerbread house - one of the best ways to spend Christmas night

Last Xmas Day we went to CG at the CR for dinner and it was perfect.

We booked a table for 19:30 and had a leisurely dinner and then at 9pm went out on the deck to watch the fire works before dessert.

We had never been to the CG and the view over Magic Kingdom lit up for the evening was spectacular.

We asked for a window table when we checked in and got one with just a few minutes wait.

Am tending towards Artist Point! Is there anywhere to view fireworks at WL?? Would we be OK for parking, as we won't be staying 'on site'?
Is there anything else we could do before/after our meal? Had heard they did Sleigh Rides at WL?

We ate at Boma's when we went for Christmas. They seem to cater for all types, spicy, vegetarians etc, and those with a special dietry need, the chef came out personally to tell them what they could eat off the menu.

Unfortunately, there's nowhere at WL from which to watch the fireworks, Tracy. You can catch the Electrical Water Pageant from the area near the boat dock. It'll probably pass by WL at around 9.30pm, but times do vary. It lasts about 10 minutes.

The sleigh rides are offered throughout December. They costs $35, last for 25 minutes and depart every 30 minutes (from 5.30pm to 9.30pm). Each sleigh accommodates up to 4 adults.

You won't have any problem parking. Just tell security at the gate that you have an ADR at Artist Point. They'll ask to see photo ID.

AP is a big restaurant, but this is going to be a very popular choice for Christmas Day, so you'll need to phone bang on the 180 day mark. Even then, you might not get lucky because onsite guests can book 10 days' ADRs 180 days ahead of their check-in date. That means that anyone checking in from 15th December will have a head start on offsite guests.
