i was just diagnosed with mono yesterday and I leave for springbreak at Disney in 19 days. i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to get around and take it easy, yet still have a great time. I am a college student so that already puts a damper on the nightlife there (my old roommates who are still interning down there are going to meet me at different places). I will also be with my parents and little sister (who is also in college)- this trip was a christmas gift from me to them, that's why i didn't cancel the trip, and it will probably be the last trip there with my parents.
thanks for any ideas
Ashley

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well :(

The only suggesstions I can make would be to not plan to do any "commando" style park going. Plan to relax at the resort and enjoy & take it at a slower pace. If you do go to the parks plan on taking it slow...take in some shows, use fast pass, etc. And make PS ahead of time as to not be running to make last minute seatings because "they can take you but only if you can get there 20mins from now" type stuff IKNWIM;)

Anyway, if you plan to just take a slower pace and relax I'm sure you'll enjoy. Both OKW and BCV's are great to take in in themselves....I'm sure you'll have a great time! Enjoy and hope you feel better soon!

Ashley, I'm so sorry to hear about your mono. The same thing happened to me years ago, I was graduating from college and my parents were coming down to FL, we were planning a big trip to WDW to celebrate, and boom, I get mono.

We went anyway and had a great time. The key - rent a wheelchair! I was able to rest and conserve my strength in the parks, and my family had fun rolling me around. It was the best money we ever spent, and ensured we all had a good time.

Blessings - Lin

Just remember how the mono is affecting your internal organs (is it the spleen or the liver that is enlarged?) - and don't ride anything like Mission Space! I'd say the rough rides are out for you this time. The wheelchair would be a great idea - and would protect you from the bustling crowds of pushing people! Also - laying out by the pool will be a great option! Take care of yourself, I would certainly talk to your dr before you go for any reccomendations.

Thanks for all the help. :flower:

The good thing about staying at BCV or OKW is that they are a vacation in themselves. My motto is " Where I stay is just as important part of my vacation as anything I do", I like to enjoy my resort :teeth:

I know you are probably a little bummed about meeting up with your old college friends, but think about it as a wonderful family vacation.

Take it easy and Have fun
