Ideas for socials ?

Since you all are such a creative group of people I wanted to hear your awesome ideas for socials. I will need to plan at least 6 this spring semester. In the fall we went ice skating, played laser tag, did a scavenger hunt, a pajama party, roller skating, haunted house, casino night and a "grafitti" party. Any help of suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Who is the group?

If it is a group of your adult friends, why not have a wine and cheese party?

Without knowing the target audience, it's harder to think of things. Is it for a church or school group?

I've got a ton of ideas...things we did when I was in college with groups of guys and girls, things I did as a young women's leader in my church, etc. Is this for your sorority(girls only) or for guys/girls together?

I'd love to share my ideas but it would help to narrow it down first!

Well, I can tell you a few that we do (I am involved in a social sorority). Every year we do a mother/daughter social, usually lunch at a restaurant, although we have done breakfast as well. We celebrate our mothers and daughters with some poems, have a few contests (most kids, longest to get to the event, newest mom, etc.) and usually do raffles and door prizes. This year we are also doing a garden party, a progressive dinner, camping, and other things I can't quite think of right now . Another neat idea I want to throw out for next year is to do an Oscar party. Found this idea on the Dis and the thread is out there with a lot of good ideas.

I can't believe I left this out! Some of these will be sisterhood socials (girls only) and most will be with a fraternity.

Mandy...here are some of the ideas I have....

Ice blocking...not sure where we got the blocks from, but you cover these big blocks of ice with a towel, find a hill and down you go!

Service scavenger hunt

Progressive dinner, themed dinners

Water Gun Tag: We played this for a month long activity. Each girl and boy drew a name, and received a water gun. The object was to get your opponent by surprise (while they’re taking a walk, taking out the garbage, etc). We set limits like: no shooting at the church, etc. Once you get your guy, you take the name they drew, and keep going until only one man is standing.

Put together emergency kits

Mandy, do you want ideas for party/mixer type socials or just something fun to do with your sisters/another frat? If you want mixer ideas let me know and I'll PM them to you. (These are more the party type themes that may no be as appropriate for public consumption on the boards If you're looking for just regular sisterhood ideas, we try to attend the fun programs on campus. Screech from Saved By the Bell was just here and we all went to see him. We've done picnics (date picnic where you sleep over night and just regular day trips to the woods), pumpkin carving, movie nights... I'm sure there's a million more, but I'm in sorority burn out at the moment. It's late and night on the second day of formal recruitment for us. lol. I think my brain is fried!!! Let me know if you need any more help. Maybe when my brain isn't so recruitment fuzzy I can think of more.
