Hi we are off for a flying visit this Thursday!! Our only full day to visit the park will be Friday so we are planning to be in the park for EMH all the way through to closing. I know this is going to be very tiring and we will need to try to take it easy for part of the day - does anyone have any idea how we could do this without going back to the hotel?

I've never done a FULL day but I think they key is regular breaks for a sit down & snack & drink.popcorn::

Are you a shareholder? If so, I would suggest Salon Mickey! If not, maybe stop for snacks in the day, in the arcades if it's too hot, or a shady spot. Pocahontas Playground is lovely for that.

IASW usually works wonders for me too, calms DD down and is a chance to relax. Or sit down for the Tarzan show? Ice creams while sitting & waiting for the parade by Bella Notte! Ahhhh, what I wouldn't give to be there now.....:cloud9:

In Frontierland, behind the shooting gallery (follow the path around to the left of it), you'll find one of the best seats in the park popcorn::

Like Pocahontas Playground as well :goodvibes

We manage from 9am to 11pm on our trip a few weeks ago, we the decided the disney magic keeps you going! We did have the weather on side too.

Try to fit in some shows in the middle of the day and take a good lunch & dinner break.

Have fun:goodvibes

Thanks, I had forgotten about this place. My OH found it last year and used to take Evie there in the buggy when we wanted her to sleep. That reminds me that the riverboat is quite calm too.:goodvibes

I forgot to put Tarzan on my must do list on the other thread, a definate sometime on Friday I think. Not shareholders yet sadly but I have dropped some very big hints about what I would like from santa this year;) Ice creams sound like a great idea too - I don't think we managed one in our week in June!

Thanks, I'm glad to know it can be done. At the moment it looks like the weather should be good - I have read the first part of your trip report and it looks like you had a great time:goodvibes

Take time out to have a nice leisurely lunch? We've often gone in for EMH and stayed until long past the fireworks - the time just seems to fly when you're enjoying yourselves.

Hope you have a fantastic time :wizard: it's cold, wet, grey and miserable here today, what I wouldn't give to be at Disney regardless of the weather!

My husband and I went in March of this year and as I have a weak right ankle that only puts up with me for a few hours at a time, we rested often.

I found the quietest places were the benches inside the arcades (either side works), this also meant a nice dry seat :) It's also nice and quiet near the Aladdin walkthrough attraction and we headed over to Woody's roundup after he'd been there and everyone had gone. We got a lovely picnic table, grabbed a drink and sat in the sunshine for at least 45 minutes before we got up and at it again.

There are plenty of seats dotted around, I think it's more about allowing yourself enough time to rest and rehydrate, etc. Also, we had EMH and managed to do at least 4 major things before the park opened which meant we weren't rushing about or queuing as much, so that should go a long way to helping.

Also - if you do pop out of the park for an hour or so, there are lots of options at Disney Village if you want to just get away from the hustle & bustle for a while.

Have a lovely time!

We spent about an hour sitting on the table and chairs in the gardens between the plaza gardens and the gibson girl cafe with a couple of coffee and a waffle last week and were not checked on by any waiting staff so think you could sit there for a bit, we also managed to see the dance magic parade float go up and down the street without anyone in the way.

There were also plenty of seats inside the videopolis building in discoveryland and lots of people appeared to be eating their packed lunches in there. I also sat at the exit of the star tours ride on some concrete blocks that weren't to busy.

My kids and many adults sat on the pavement on main street to watch the parade as we got there early

Have fun

I'd second this :thumbsup2 - they show classic toons through most of the day and you don't need to buy any food/drinks to use the benches along the front of the venue. Nice and cool in hot weather, and lovely and dry in wet weather. The kids can run about or watch the toons, and you can rest your feet for a bit. Its never busy either, in my experience, and the toilets are quiet and clean too ;).

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. I am noting them all down ready to take with us. I knew about most of the places but they just didn't come to mind when I tried to think about it:goodvibes

I think one of our problems could be persauading the kids that they need to take it easy for a bit;)
