Ideas for inexpensive souvenirs for the whole class?

Thought I would pick your brains to see what things you Disers have come up with in the past. It can really add up when yo are buying for multiple classes if your not clever! Thanks

My Mom brought back pencils in the shape of Mickey Ears...I thought of getting those for the kids in the neighborhood.

Different candies from the pavillions at EPCOT, maybe? The pencils sounds like a good idea, too. How old are the kids?

I think they have Mickey crazy straws for .50. Pressed pennies are cool- but that would take a lot of time if there are a lot of kids.

If you have a car, head to the Outlet Malls. The one at the north end of International Dr.- used to be Belz, not sure any more- has a Disney Outlet, and stuff is cheaper there. It isn't just shirts, it's all kinds of souveniers.

I teach 2nd grade and one year I bought a postcard book and gave each child a picture of a character. This year I picked up a lot of freebies like some cups from the Princess Breakfast, DVC buttons, but the thing that was the biggest hit was the Mickey soap and shampoos. My kids went nuts over them! The last 2 trips I've also bought a stuffed animal (Mickey the first time and Stitch this year) and I draw a name each day to see who gets to keep it at his desk.

The gift shop outside POC in MK has a plastic treasure chest filled with chocolate coins with different characters on them from mickey to dumbo. About 20 of them and I think it was around $7.00. My son brought it to school and each child got to reach in a grab a coin.

A couple of years ago, we got a bunch of Mickey stickers from a CM for free. WE even offered to pay. They were just they ones the CM give out for free, but it was a nice thing for the kids to take to school to give to classmates.

Be sure you double check with your child's teacher before sending candy. Here in TX candy/treats cannot be shared with the students unless it is one of the "free food" days designated by the district.

The Mickey Head pencils are cute, but at last check the were running about $2.50 (or was it $3.50). I have 2 classes of 25 kids to buy for. So $125.00 is a bit more than I was looking to spend.

I thought of the Mickey Head Straws, but had a hard time finding them last trip.

Not to sound mean or anything, (and I apologize if I do,) but I think its kinda tacky to pass out souvineers of "your" vacation to every kid in the classroom. most of them don't care if you went to Disney World or not, and bringing them a cheap little reminder of "your" trip seems like you are bragging or something.
I'm sorry to sound so mean about it but thats how I feel about passing out souvineers to an entire classroom or neighborhood full of kids who probably don't care where you went anyways.

I bet those kids would appreciate an Ice Cream or pizza party FAR BETTER than some trinket souvineer of "YOUR" vacation.

Probably, but last year, so many kids from my daughter's kindergarten class asked for her to bring something back, she had to.

They sell boxes (or wheels, because that's what they look like) of 24 crayons. They come in either classic characters (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc.) or princesses. DD6 got the princesses (refusing to listen do DW saying that she had 11 boys in her class), and they were a big hit. She, of course, chose an Ariel crayon for herself, and still has it.

She also answered questions from her class, including what was her favorite ride. (As she puts it, "The Adventures of Star Tours!")

When I was younger salt water taffy in a disney bag went over well, only need a couple peices per child, looking into the stickers is a good idea, The dollar store has window clings, that way you could let the kids decorate the classroom. In my experience most children like to receive "treats" no matter what the occasion is, even if it is from someone elses Disney vacation. I dont' feel that it is rude or tacky. Actually I think it's nice that you are thinking about the other kids in the class.

I think the Mickey shaped straws would be a good idea or some Disney stickers.

Really?? Because everytime I've been my class has been so excited. Traveling on an airplane to another state is thrilling to them. We all talk about where Florida is and what types of trips they've been on. They treasure anything I give them (they still love their teacher in 2nd grade) and I would much rather it be something they can hold and keep than something they just consume. My DD has also brought back gifts for her friends and they are thrilled that she thought about them on her trip, just as she is when her friends bring her sourvenirs.

I always grab a big handful of napkins and put them in my back pack. I gave them to my daughter to use for her tea parties and she loved them. Maybe you could make some sort of themed cup cakes when you get back and serve them on the Disney napkins? Just a thought.

in DTD they have a store called Mickey's Dollar Mart or something like that...they sell "grab bags" for like $7 each that have like maybe 7 or 8 things in them. If you pick up a couple of those, each kid in class could get something and most everything will be different. My DBF picked one up this year and it had a pack of tinkerbell pens, a wind up donald duck, a stitch antenna topper, a cheshire cat magnet, a cheshire cat race car, and a couple other things that I can't remember off the top of my head...
