My friend and I normally stay on Disney but this year we plan to more seaworld/universal and off site dinning so going to give off site a go. what hotels would you recommend that are decent price but also 3*+ hotels. We will have a car so location is not a massive factor.

Last year stayed at the Fairfield inn/Springhill suites opposite Seaworld,l.Lovely hotel only downside is the pool is not heated.Free breakfast not biggest choice but cereal, fresh fruit, waffles plus a selection of a few other things.
Previous years we have stayed at the Doubletree opposite Seaworld and its by far my fave. You don't get the free breakfast but as a whole the hotel is outstanding. The restaurants, the service, pools everything is of a high standard. We asked for a tower room both times we stayed and they upgraded us free of charge no problem.Oh and the free cookies you get at check-in are to die for.

We also enjoy staying at the Fairfield but I never tie to one hotel, I find the best deal on offer for my dates.
If you post your dates I will try get time to look.

We liked Rosen inn pointe Orlando for the price.

Agree look for a deal - groupon or travel zoo are worth checking.

Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando is great value if you can get it for £30-35/night (you can get it for less than that if you're lucky!). Fantastic location as you will then be able to walk to restaurants, bars, shops, mini golf etc. which is nice - probably the best location on I Drive. It has 3 pools, which are well kept though shade is limited we found (fine if you like to crisp in the sun like me, not so good if the heat bothers you...). Fridge and microwave in the room too. It's also handily opposite a 24 hour Walgreens for drinks, snacks etc. Staying again this year. Downside is that the resort is pretty big and reception/cafe/shop etc. is all at one end of the resort, not central, so you can be a good 5 minutes walk out (personally that's fine for us since we go to reception to check in/out only!). We heard a lot of people complaining about it whilst we were there, though. Oh, and I sent my partner to get an ice cream and it was so far for him to walk back the ice cream was melting when he got back to me at the pool, so I had to wolf it down - woe is me ;) It's really, really popular though - over 1000 rooms and sold out often. It's one of the hotels Virgin use on their package deals, we spotted lots of Brits...

We have also enjoyed the Four Points Studio City in recent years - location not as good as the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando being further up I Drive but rooms and pool much nicer. Really close to Universal. Used to be able to get it for around £40/night but last year they wanted £90+ (not worth that!). They were doing some of the rooms up so I think they're trying to charge more for us (though we had a "new" room each time we stayed and it was nice but not worth £90/night!). I'd pay up to £45/night, maybe £50/night. Doesn't have fridges and microwaves like the Rosen though, boo.

The Doubletree is nice, good location but would only want a tower room myself.

If you're on a REAL budget, I have stayed at some really, really cheap places. Some lovely (seriously!), some meh, none awful....but not 3*.

Haven't stayed myself but you can get some good deals on the Hilton at Destination Parkway (£60-70/night).

Have a look at the Marriott Village Lake Buena Vista, we've stayed at the courtyard 3 times and have booked again for next year.
It's a quiet area, the swimming pools are lovely and at the Fairfield Inn you also get a free breakfast

we are not tied to much to dates, we are looking around the last week in september for 14 nights but for a better deal we can go anytime sept/oct but would like to be there for HHN :)

i have been looking for a off site hotel i will look at some of these especially rosen pointe orlando as i want to be soemwhere we can walk to shops on a evening without relying on the car

Just checked 2 weeks in Sept(14th-28th) Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort is showing on Bookings.com at £56/nt, not sure if this is an error as all other sites are showing £130-150/nt. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_...dham_Bonnet_Creek_Resort-Orlando_Florida.html

Lots of good choice from around £40/nt, easier to look once you fix your dates, flights are more important than hotel.

Its a great resort, have stayed 4 times and going back again in July. I usually pay between $100 to $130 a night depending on time of year and this is for a 2 bedroom deluxe which are much bigger than the 2 beds at SSR. i really love it so would definitely recommend staying there, especially at £56/nt.

We stayed at the Econo Lodge on I-Drive (Austrian Court, I believe) in 2011, not great, but ok.

Turns out its been bought out, stripped to bare bones and is re-openingas the Avanti Resort on 26th Feb.

We're DVC members, but have a couple of spare days before our cruise in a week and a half so are trying it out. It looks lovely now, and because its new, is still selling at £30~ a night

Have a look! Edit - (I can't put a link, as I haven't posted enough here. Just google Avanti Resort Orlando)

We've stayed at The Four Points by Sheraton quite a few times and always found the rooms are nice, as is the pool area! Very close to Universal so great for CityWalk in the evenings aswell (walking distance) and was always a good price when we stayed there (although we haven't stayed there for around 6 ish years now so not sure how much things may have changed)!
