I have been a big Disney fan my whole life and visit Disneyland a couple times per month. My friends have finally decided its time to take their kids and of course want me to come along as their "guide" (I'm basically a pseudo-Aunt to their kids). There will be 7 families, and none have been to DL before, but we've all been friends for over a decade. One family with a 7-yr old boy and an almost 5-yr old girl (we took them to Knotts Berry Farm last year and turns out these kids love thrill rides - literally they would have gone on the biggest coasters if they were tall enough). The other family will have a newly 4-yr old girl who has been to Universal Hollywood with her parents, but she is fully into the Disney princesses already.

Anyways, I wanted to make up a little gift bag for the kids as a Disney intro. I'm thinking park maps (I know they won't totally understand them, but will probably like to look at pictures), starter pin lanyard (and I have some extra trading pins), pressed penny supplies & case (they really liked that at Knotts Berry Farm), autograph book (not so sure about this one, if they will even care), and maybe a disposable camera (so they can take their own photos for fun). I'm also going to the Asian parks before they plan to visit DL, so will get them each one of those cute pass cases they can use as little purses. Anything else you can think of? Obviously don't want to overwhelm them, but still want it to be fun! (And yes, I do know I will probably end up carrying most of this stuff during the day...)

All great ideas - hit the dollar store for glowsticks if your going to be there at night.

I second the idea of a string bag or belt bag so they can carry their own stuff. Our kids also carried a Disney theme refillable water bottle as well (also found at dollar store/walmart etc.)

Personally I would skip the camera - to much to carry and then there is the developing etc - I am sure they are fully able to take a picture using parents smartphone :)

My kids loved the small plastic Disney figures and would bring a couple to play with in line or at meals - maybe a couple small cars for the boys.

I think that is very sweet to put together bags for the kids. I would also go with a string bag ( Amazon has some good ones, cheap. I was just at Disneyland in August and had a hard time finding them in the parks) lanyards, pins, pressed penny supplies, and autograph books are perfect for that age and personally I think that covers the necessities and would be enough. Depending how much you want to spend you could get a pair of ears or something similar. It sounds like your a great “pseudo-aunt” and hope you have a great time.
Oh- stop and get them each a “first visit” pin since you are there often.
