Ideas for celebrating Halloween w/o OBB tickets

Hi community! We will be travelling to Disneyland in October with our toddler and will not be attending OBB (couldn't get tickets.. *sigh*). I'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas on how to still be festive even without the trick-or-treating/ticketed events? We will be staying at Paradise Pier. For example - any special buttons cast members can give out for halloween? hidden souvenirs? stickers? I'm hoping for ideas of things to do/get at the parks as well as things I might be able to bring from home to celebrate. TIA!

Seconding there being Halloween stuff all over the place so you won't need to worry there. But Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit is also coming back to downtown Disney this year! Depending on how young your toddler is and if it would hold their attention it could be fun trying to find all the pumpkins locations and see what you can 'win' for a prize at the end.

Buy a small pumpkin candy holder (small one for luggage). And buy some candy. When going to the park for the day, be the last one out of the room. Set up the pumpkin in the room, so that it's there when you get back. I don't know who will be with you, but hopefully the other adult (if there is one on this trip), will take the toddler downstairs while you do this quickly. Maybe even blow up a few balloons. A small Halloween themed plush toy would be a nice touch, and maybe a Halloweeen story book to read at bedtime after a long day in the park(s).

This is an amazing idea! We will totally do this as a fun surprise!

The park will be so festive, as other people have said. Definitely easy to get into a Halloween mood!

Lots of children wear princess dresses or Disney bound outfits every day. Your little one could maybe wear a costume on one of your park days, or a fun Disney Halloween outfit.

You could buy a special Halloween themed dessert or snack.

Hide candy around your room- similar to an egg hunt- and have your toddler find it.

If you want to try to attend OBB, the onsite hotels do (at least in the past, including 2021 when we did this) have some day-of tickets for sale for the OBB. We had to change last-minute from WDW to DLR last year, about 2 weeks prior to Columbus Day weekend. We had tickets to MNSSHP at WDW, but of course, OBB was sold out. When we checked into the DLH, I asked. They said, come to the front desk at 0500 the day of the party you want to attend. They have limited numbers of tickets, shared by all 3 onsite hotels, for sale the day-of. I was the second in line at 0445, and right at 0500 they started calling us back up to purchase tickets. We were SO happy to have tickets!

This is a GREAT tip! Thank you!

It was a tip I got on these very boards last year! (Love these boards!) I was so sad that we didn’t have OBB tickets because it is my DD’s favorite Disney event. They did have only very limited numbers of tickets, so only the first 7-8 families got tickets. It is definitely worth getting up early for this, and you need to try to be in the first several families “on the list”. The CM’s may not mention it to you at all, so you should ask when you check in. Only one person has to go down there at 0445, but you will need each person’s park ticket (physical or on the app) and of course, your credit card, for the purchase.
