My daughter will turn 3 next month (yikes!) and she is a princess fanatic. She insists on being called "Rella" most of the time. I blame the Disney cruises we've been on, but it's not all bad. Now that we live close to DL I was thinking about a big bash at the park. Well, not huge, but very princess centered. What can we do to celebrate? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! :flower3:

BTT - I guess I should clarify - we haven't been to DL yet (we just moved here in April.) What areas/events should we go to/do with DD to make her b-day extra special? And are there any "surprises" we can add to our trip? Someone said something about a birthday bucket? Thanks!

The DLR does offer a Birthday Package - "My Disneyland Birthday Party" - that can be combined with a seating at any Resort Table Service restaurant. It includes individual cakes, birthday buckets with various favours, and other surprises.

There's also the "Happiest Birthday on Earth" 'party' held at Plaza Inn on Main Street USA. It's a cute show that little ones will enjoy.

For both of those, you can get information and make Priority Seating arrangements by calling Disney Dining on (714) 781-DINE.

You can also stop by City Hall to pick up a button. They might even be able to arrange for one of the characters to call and wish a Happy Birthday ;).

Here's some info. on celebrating a birthday at the park. (They've had pins instead of stickers in the past few years, but I've heard lately that they were running low on buttons and using stickers at times again). We did the birthday party at the Plaza Inn for my DS's birthday and it was a lot of fun. We bought the Mickey Birthday Bucket for him and he really liked it.The princess one would be great for your DS. It's very cute and appropriate for her age. I'll see if I can find the link where there is a good picture of it. What about a meal with the princesses at Ariel's Grotto? If you mention that it is her birthday, I believe they will bring out a cupcake and sing Happy Birthday to her. They did this for my DS at Goofy's Kitchen and the Mad Hatter along with the CM's sang Happy Birthday to him. It was wonderful! I hope your DS has a great birthday at Disneyland

Also, if you call or email disney planning#714-300-7526, disneyplanning@disneyonline.com, you can arrange to have a birthday gift basket that includes her fave characters delivered to your room while you are at the parks. What a surprise that would be! Also , you can have a birthday cake made at a Disney hotel restaurant. Good luck, and hope she has a wonderful birthday!

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Ariel's, a character meal with princesses. Tell them it's her birthday, and snag a birthday button (saying "pin" makes it seem it's like the trading pins you buy, but it's more like a "campaign" button, LOL) for her to wear that day.

My hubby got me the "princess bucket" and really, well, maybe for a 3 year old it would be good, but that's nearly the only age it's good for. Has a slippery satiny ribbon that kept slipping out of the loops and falling. Contained a sheet of princess magnets like paper dolls. Birthday pin with a few princesses on it. And a baby comb and brush ("baby" b/c that's the ONLY kind of hair it could get through, babyfine baby or toddler hair) all pink and sparkly. And a nasty cake that my then 2 year old liked, but it really was very nasty.

I personally would just rather buy a proper birthday present, rather than a bucket that you'll probalby have to carry, ya know? A nice plush, a fun princess meal, and the attention she'll get from everyone wishing her a good birthday... :)

OH, and getting her an AP for her b'day would be fun, too! My guy was a few months over 3 when we got his (when we went after he turned 3), but he understood that it was special b/c he hadn't needed a ticket before, and that it meant many visits to Disney in the next year!

How does the Birthday Package work ? I'm staying at a Good Neighbor hotel so that Birthday gift basket won't work out for me. My family did the birthday package for me in January, but they won't tell me about it :lmao: Where better place to get the information than here?? :goodvibes
