Ideas for an onboard gender reveal?

I like the golden mickeys idea but we have never been to that show so I don't know how the interview thing works. I also like the crush idea but I want to do it on the first night and we may not get AP first.

How about filling the stateroom or the dining table or something with either all mickey or all minnies? And saying something like " we are expecting a little minnie" or same idea with princess or princes.... "coming soon... disney's next prince charming or next princess"

You could have them prepare, (or even pack yourself) some cute boxed desserts for dinner. Inside, Mickey or Minnie cupcakes, or other pink/blue chocolates or treats.

What about making some cards from the baby to your mom and the siblings saying "I can't wait to sail with you when I'm born". Attach the cards to wrapped boxes, one for each person, and inside the box will be a Minnie if it's a girl with a pink bow, and a Mickey if it's going to be a boy. Everyone can open them up at once.

Or, what about creating a card with your ultrasound picture on it, you could digitally add Minnie ears to the baby's head if it's a girl or Mickey ears if it's a boy. The front could say, "I can't wait to sail with you when I'm born" and they could open it up and the picture with the ears would be inside! Everyone would open them at the same time and there would be a loud gasp of excitement when they see the baby's picture wearing his/her ears!

What about setting up an interview on the red carpet during the Golden Mickeys. Mom and kids are in the theater and you pop up on the screen and give the news. Dad could be in the theater and video tape it for you.

THIS IS THE BEST IDEA EVER. Kudos on coming up with it! And our lovely Golden Mickeys host Rona Rivers would definitely love to be in on it!

You can either walk up on the night of and simply ask to be interviewed and unless there happens to be an odd amount of people actually lining up for that, you could just do it and mid-interview, say to Rona - "well, actually I'm celebrating some very great news tonight". And then you can make the big reveal!

If you wanted it to be a specifically planned thing, best to ask one of the character greeters if you could have a word with their manager or pass along a letter from you asking about it.

Once someone asked in advance like this in order to propose and they allowed it!

I really like this idea but we haven't seen the show, how does the interview thing work?

DH looooooooves the Crush idea and wants me to be able to keep my mouth shut until whatever night we happen to get AP!

Thread does not deliver.

From the title, I assumed that a woman was going to announce to a giant group of people that she was now a man.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I tried to do an onboard gender reveal to my wife after our kids fell asleep, but she said she already knew I was a guy and she had a "headache".

We have a winner!!!!

The golden mickeys is in the Walt Disney Theater, about 20 minutes before the show starts they do a fake red carpet thing outside and interview cruise guests coming in, pretending they are celebs on the red carpet. The lady who does it is really over the top, it is fun. My twins got interviewed last time, it was awesome. They could interview you, and you could look at the camera (that is showing inside the theater) and reveal a little secret.

I am sure the cruise director would be willing to set this up.

I'm in tears over this!!! Could barely even read it out loud to my DH I was laughing so hard.

Golden Mickeys red carpet reveal sounds perfect to me. :cool1:

I do like this one! Although DH is not thrilled about "having" to go to a show, he'll get over it. IIRC we will know our dining rotation as soon as we check in at the port, so if we magically have AP Sunday night I will try to do Crush instead. Either way I will visit guest services as soon as we board and try to arrange one or the other.

You can request going to AP first on your dining rotation. Also, request that they seat you right next to a screen to make it easy. I think it would be totally cute to have Crush address your table and say something like "Hey lady in the (whatever color you are wearing...Ohh...wear either pink or blue) I know why you are wearing that color. Underneath, there is a little dude or dudette"

The interview at the show....When the theater starts to get full, Rona Rivers comes up on the big screens interviewing people as though they are on the red carpet. Its cute, she usually asks where they are from, how many cruises they've been on ect ect. That would be really cool. And, you would be revealing the sex to everyone, not just your family. The only thing...It may be hard if you're not all at the show. What if the kids are not into seeing the show? It's more likely that all of you will definitely be at dinner the first night. If you have early seating...Oceaneers isn't even open for secured activities yet. Lab open house ends at 6 and club ends at 9 I think?? So you pretty much know ALL of you will be and want to be at dinner.

THIS!!! That would be so awesome, and funny at the same time, to have Crush make the announcement! oooo you'll have to be a little more discreet with what you wear though since your mom likes to lurk here... (do something small, but let the head server know so Crush knows what to call out. Make it something your mom won't readily recognize...)

Man if I wasn't overseas I'd sooooo book this cruise just to watch this! Lol:rotfl2: Makes me want to book a christmas cruise to do the same thing! (I'm due end of April so we won't find out until right before christmas)

What about having Shirley do up a gift basket with items pertaining to a baby girl?

I had no idea you could request a rotation. Would I do this at the port or should I call? We are on the 10/20 Dream.

call DCL now and ask about dining rotation and explain what your intentions are, you can request a dining rotation(no guarantee though)

This. You have a 33% chance of that being your rotation anyway. Yes, just call. It is not guaranteed, but I think they are pretty good about honoring simple requests like that.

There is no point to calling DCL now with your cruise two days away. Everything has been turned over to the onboard dining team now. Go to dining changes after you board and see if it is possible to switch there.

Well that was a bust -- I called and was told it was too late to request a rotation (I thought it might be), but he asked what I had in mind and I told him all about it. He seemed to think I just wanted to guarantee Crush would talk to our table and kept saying it was random. So, I will ask at the port and it that doesn't work I will plan for the Golden Mickey's.
