tell us some of the things we have done for spring break..please give me some more things to do
-chicago
-gatlinburg
-fort walton
-d.c.
-skiing
-universal florida
-san diego/la (disneyland etc.)

any other ideas..thought about nyc but would seem to chilly

How about baltimore? we'll be heading down that way for the aquarium next month, and if the weather is nice we'll do the zoo also, I dont know if you have kids or not

What about San Antonio or Dallas/Fort Worth? Both have a large number of atractions and activities for familes.

I would agree with San Antonio and the surrounding area (including Austin!) but not Dallas and we live just to the north of Dallas. There's a little to do here but not nearly as much.

How about New Orleans, the Smoky Mountains, the Rockies, Savannah or Charleston?

Since your in TN... how bout something not too incredibly far... like Myrtle Beach, or Tybee Island.. or Pensacola??

wont Myrtle Beach be crazy with college kids at spring break??

Another vote for San Antonio. Lots to do with the kids, Sea World, Fiesta Texas, Alamo, Riverwalk, Zoo, etc. etc. A little farther out from town there is a cave place that our ds liked. Lots to do and the weather is usually pretty nice.

Is your list a list of places you have already gone, or places you are considering?

I second Charleston, SC.

We've had terrific spring breaks in:

San Diego
LA (Disneyland)
Williamsburg VA
Chicago

This is also the perfect time to go to Costa Rica. It's the prettiest place I've ever been, and only a 3 hour direct flight from Dallas.

If you Spring Break is in mid-March like ours, it might be kind of late to plan. (However, last I checked, there were still rooms available at the Universal hotels.) In such case, a city with lots of hotel rooms (like Chicago or San Diego) may be easier than a resort town like Myrtle Beach.

One of our favorite spring break vacations is a cruise. Since you're from Tn you're close enough to drive to a lot of the departure ports.

I just booked our spring trip last night...

We are heading up to Wisconsin Dells to a water park hotel for 3 nights... While there we are going to check out some campsites I want to camp over Mother's day weekend. (I ahve to pull the It's mother's day card to get my family to try tent camping lol)

As a Chicagoian I must say we have a fine city, with lots to do. The Museum campus Downtown is beautiful Here is my short youtube video of the campus

The Mag Mile.. China town Greek Town... all within 10 minutes of Downtown.

How long is your break?
When is your break?
How big is your group?
What ages of kids?
