Hi! My ds will be turning 10 this spring and has been asking to have a few friends sleep over. He has slept over my dearest friends house with their son and also his cousins house but we've never had an official sleepover here yet. (He is the oldest child of four!)

I see lots of ideas for girls sleepovers that involve activities that are "girly":rotfl: but nothing geared towards boys.

So, moms of boys......do you ever have sleepovers, and if so, do you have any ideas/suggestions to make it really fun?

VIDEO GAMES....my son and his friends have spent hours playing on the Wii (and gamecube before that!)...have some outside activities planned (weather permitting)....movies...cards (my child was a card shark and I did not know it...learned from watching the TRAVEL CHANNEL!!!)....they will easily entertain themselves...whatever he likes to do the others will like also...at 10 yrs old, they are probably into entertaining themselves instead of having lots of structured activities...

Oh good luck. My now 13 year old had his LAST sleepover at 10. I had to breakup a tackle football game going on in my family room at 4 AM. The boys stayed up all night- playing video games and watching movies. Well when the mom's came to pick them up (at 10 in the morning) a couple had just fallen asleep- so I said just leave them I'll call you when they wake up. And sure enough that turned into sleepover night number 2!!

Really it was all about eating, playing video games, movies, scavenger hunt, and cards. :confused3 on the cards but they were playing war and enjoying it. Oh and uno was played too. But mostly it was rough and tumble chase around kind of fun.

Good luck.

I agree with the video games. We've had large groups and put several tvs in the living room with different game systems. They loved that! (Make sure to have all E rated games or clear anything else through the parents first)
Weather permitting, I also try to have some active outdoor things planned for early in the evening (helps keep the noise level/wrestling down as the night wears on). If it's warm enough, water balloon fights are always a hit!
Plan on lots of food! Someone is always "hungry".
We always end the evening with a movie and they have to lay down and be quiet so we can get some sleep, before we have to fix pancakes in the morning.
It's always a lot of fun but don't plan anything the next day so you can recuperate!;)
