Ok, I'm new to this and I'm not sure I'm posting in the right place, but here it goes. We are going to WDW in May and staying at POP. I requested a HA room with roll-in and a fridge. There are three of us (DD, me, and a nurse). Typically at home a weeks worth of her TPN (IV nutrition) and meds (also IV) take a full size fridge. I'm planning on several coolers, but I'm wondering how much room there will be. We will also have her w/c. Just trying to figure out how to best fit things in and if there is something I should plan ahead for that might make it easier. Also, how big are the fridges? I"m guessing the small, small dorm size?

I can only answer the fridge size part of this question, but there aren't fridges unless you request one for medical reasons (I've done this) or pay for them. You would obviously have the medical reasons to do this, but they are very tiny. Idk if you could get more than one or if they could accommodate you further, but the only places with a full sized fridge are the 1+ bedrooms at DVC hotels and the cabin at the campground as far as I know. Best of luck! I'm sure Disney will help you out if you explain the situation clearly.

Also, be wary of the temp in the fridge itself. A few years back during the very large diabetes conference at CSR everyone's insulin froze as the fridges were all a bit too cold.
;) So bring a fridge thermometer.

I would second that. When Houseeping turns the refrigerators on, they often turn them all the way to the coldest setting - which will be too cold once it reaches the temperature that the refrigerator is set at.
Also, the fuller the refrigerator, the more the temperature varies. So I would suggest filling the refrigerator with other things to help keep the temperatur even. Bottles of water or cans of pop work well - even glasses of water from the tap will work. Think of it as insulation.

For the OP - I would suggest calling the Special Reservations number yourself. I can't post a link right now, but the number is listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread in he post about resorts and accommodations. You can find that thread near the top of this board or you can follow the link on my signature. Post one of that thread is an index that tells which post has which information.

I just want to add my follow up in case someone reads this later with a similar question. I did call special guest services and found out that I can request more than one fridge if it's medically needed. We are shipping every three days so 2 plus a cooler should be plenty of room. thanks for the idea of the thermometer. I use one at home on my big fridge and it works well to keep things from freezing. I also like the idea of putting things in to keep it full so the temp stays steady (as things empty until my next shipment). Thanks for the help!

I was thinking the same thing about multiple refrigerators. You would need to work thru Special Reservations to do that though.
Glad to hear it worked out for you.
