Ideal number of days

With the distance we travel and the amount of time is takes to get there, we have always preferred 14 days when we go during the summer. However, our upcoming trip is for 10 days so we can have a few "down" days at home before returning to work.

A lot of this sort of depends on when you are going and what kind of tourists you are. If you are going at a peak time you will want more time. If you hate mornings you will want more time. Also it depends on what you consider everything. Does that include dtd, waterparks, Disney quest and a side trip to Universal or just the 4 main parks. Are you wanting to go for an event like star wars weekends or MVMCP. If its not peak season I would say you need 6 park days. If it is peak 8. Then add to that your extra stuff.

Two cents

Definitely 8-9 days. My upcoming trip is only 5 days .. wish it were longer!

We've only been twice. First trip was 15n, last one was 18n. This time we're doing 21n, but with 5n in Universal in the middle. We're travelling from Ireland so also have to fit in the obligatory US outlet shopping :rotfl2: I have to say the 18n stay was very very relaxing :goodvibes

Our last trip was 5.5 days over Christmas break. It was fine but didn't leave a lot of flexibility. Our next trip is 7.5 days and I'm really looking forward to a more relaxed trip.

WOW...your upcoming trip looks like a dream come true!!! US's HRH is sweet. And, of course, BC and BW are 2 of our WDW faves. I'm jealous~!

I'd also say 10 day would be awesome, 2 weeks if it is possible. We usually spend a Friday and Saturday traveling, Sun-Fri in the parks, and Sat coming home, and it's just not enough. I never feel like we can get everything done that we want to. At least 2 days in each park would be ideal for me, and possibly even 3 days in MK.

I want to plan 2 weeks sometime so I feel like I can take my time and get everything done. :)

8-10 days for us is usually enough. Any longer than that and we start missing home, worrying about the dogs, etc.

However, like ErinTwinmom said, it would definitely depend on what time of year you were going. We've been in Oct during the F&W Festival and felt like we could have stayed another couple of days. We've also been in early Sept with no crowds where we had everything ridden many many times in a 5 day span and we felt like there was really nothing left to do that we hadn't already done.

I think our ideal trip would probably be 5 day Disney cruise followed by a week at the parks!

I'm going to say 8. On our last trip we were blessed with 10 days, but noticed on the night of the 8th day that we were actually getting home-sick.

Ideally, at least ten days. My last trip, in February 2014, was for six park days. I definitely felt rushed. We had one water park day, with an evening at DHS, so that cut our full-day park days down to five. That's not nearly enough time!

So I would say ten or eleven park days, not including travel days. That allows for a more leisurely pace, some "down time", a water park day or two, and the ability to repeat parks as desired. I like to spend at least two days at MK, Epcot, and AK, and one day at DHS, so that's a full week just doing that!

8 nights, 9 days. Parks are 5-6 days, at most. We don't see everything....don't try to. To see it all, I say 6 days for touring.

365 days!!

Actually, 2 days for MK, 2 for Epcot, 1 HS, 1 AK, and maybe half a day for DTD, minimum, not counting travel days. So about 7 full days.

Well this is something that depends on so many different variables, most of all cost.

If I had unlimited funds and no need to go back to work, I'd love two week trip to spread things out, take time to relax, and enjoy all the World (and maybe beyond to the rest of the Orlando area) has to offer. But at the same time, with school age children, finding the right time to do 14 days would be a challenge. Obviously, it's much more crowded when the kids are out of school (and in the summer can be a bit too hot), and I much prefer going when crowds are lighter. While I'll take the kids out of school for a day or two, I won't for a full week.

But budgets are limited, I do have work, and we also like having time to visit other places during the year. Last time we went for 4 nights over a fall school break and it was certainly a full trip, and we ended up not able to get to Animal Kingdom. Our next trip will be 6 nights, also over a fall break. That gives us the flexibility to visit MK on multiple days and take in each of the other three major parks - essentially experiencing all of our must-see park attractions/entertainment plus a good deal more, and still have some lazy pool time mixed in.

My ideal trip would probably be 10 or 12 days at Disney. Or upcoming trip is 10 days, but we are driving 16+ hours and staying overnight each way so only 8 park days (2 of those are only partial park days after we arrive and before we leave).

This will be out 4th trip and there is still so much I want to do!

We usually go eight days (a Wed to a Wed) we purchase six day parkhoppers then add an extra day if needed.

For this planner and my commando touring style, I say 6 total days of the parks with hoppers, 1/2 day of DTD and 1/2 day of resort touring (no water parks for me) during less busy times. I can't comment on busy times of year as it has been decades since I went during the peak season. After 5 days of going from dawn to night with just a sleep and shower in the room, I am tired out to the point of not caring towards the end of day 6.
