idea for valentine gift for 16 yr old boy from girlfriend

she says she doesn't want to get him movie passes because he got her that for Christmas.

She's afraid if she buys him a gift card of any kind, it will look like she didn't put thought into it.

Sigh..still thinking so keep the ideas coming.....

When I was 16 I gave my now exhusband a gold chain. I think it maybe cost $20. I had a ring that had my name engraved on it and I let him wear it on the chain. He wore it for years! probably until we got married. That Christmas I gave him a teddy bear that I had spritzed with my perfume which he loved. What about an inexpensive ID bracelet? My ex was a car dude so i gave him lots of car gifts like speakers, seat covers, stuff to hang on his mirror ect..

My 16 year old ds got a stuffed animal last year and a photo of her. (We teased him on that one)

On the gift- do they have a "private" joke. Is there something she can do with that?

Ball cap is always good. Or a hoodie? Oh wait ds also got one of those leather bracelets (from american eagle I think-) and he still wears it.

tell me what xbox points are (and is xbox where you play call of duty?) I know he plays that with his guy friends.

You can buy a giftcard at Best Buy or other places for Xbox points, and then he can use the points to buy extra maps for Call of Duty or other downloads.

From a guy's point of view again. I personally don't want anything to do with x-box, my ipod, or any other electronic when it comes to Valentines Day. I want something that reminds me of my wife (who was my highschool sweetheart.) No matter what we say or what you think, we want something romantic too just like you! I'm telling you OP, if she wants something really special for him, have her write him a letter and frame it. Or put a special picture of the two of them in a frame and hae her write a letter. This will seriously mean the most to him. Not an x-box point card that he is going to use for a few months and then forget about. I am not even lying that I can tell you every year what my wife has gotten me for valentines day. Just trying to help.

Not every teenage boy feels that way. My boys are more practical than romantic, and for them, the Xbox points or Ipod giftcards goes a long way with them because it's something that they enjoy and not something they can purchase for themselves. To them, it shows thought and appreciation for their likes and hobbies.

I was a teenager 5 years ago :), and had all the same things back then. Birthdays, Christmas, Easter is great for those things, but not Valentines :)

ok I just asked my 16 year old and he suggested her making him something. Don't buy something- make something. Like a blanket- or paint a picture or whatever her skill is.

How about a gift basket?

Maybe put "Crush" soda in it as well as some of his favorite candies. And a fun not that says something like "I have a Crush on you!"

Super cute idea!!! Why doesn't she make him one of those fleece blankets with his favorite color(s) or sports team? You just tie the ends together, super easy. JoAnn fabrics had the fleece already cut and ready to go in a set and they were on clearance. I think the BF would love this b/c he could use it at night, or cozying on the couch, or at a sports event.

All I can say is GOOD LUCK! LOL.... I don't look forward to having this aspect of a girl at all

Okay, this is a cheesy idea, but they're 16, so cheese is in.

Tell her to go to Build-a-Bear and build a bear for him with a sound chip in its paw with a personal message from her recorded on it. Then she could accessorize the bear with a little sports jersey with his fave team's logo on it. Add a framed pic of the two of them, and she's done.

/problem solved, end thread.

My DD made her bf a personalized dog tag on artscow.com. It has a pic of them together on the front and the year, then on the back a quote and her initials + his initials. I think it's cute and it wasn't expensive at all.

What about a little photo book from snapfish/shutterfly of the two of them? She could toss in pictures of friends and activities from school like sports or dances?
They have all kinds of products that she could have a picture of the two of them put on...
