Idea for new resort?

I definitely like the Haunted Resort (Halloween reservations=impossible :) ) and the All-Character Resort ideas... they both sound like fun for "kids" of all ages.

Personally I would hope for a section of the All-Character Resort called Duckberg... I want to stay in the "Scrooge's Vault" wing :)

I've always like the idea of a New York themed resort. Sort of like New York NY in Las Vegas.

Resterants would include a real New York pizzaria, a real new york delicatessan, and a bagel store.

The hotel would have replicas of important landmark, and instead of driving around golf carts, cm's would drive taxi cabs.

I've had this idea for some time now actually but haven't gotten to share it with many people yet. My idea is for "Disney's Neverland Resort" on Bay Lake across from CR. The lobby would be tropical with a waterfall and rainbow cascading over it. There would be different wings for different areas to please all types of travelers: The Lost Boy Treehouses would be on the beachfront and would be circular, perhaps a good spot for concierge accommodations. Then there would be the Mermaid Lagoon wing to please the little princesses with an underwater theme. There would also be skull rock wing complete with pirate motif and of course Captain Hook. And don't forget Indian Camp with fun indian decor. I think a hotel like this could please everyone because it would have a little bit of everything all tied into one place and brings out the magic of Peter Pan. Of course, there are tons of other details, but this just gives you a taste of my vision.

I have thought about this too, and thought that it would be great if Disney created a resort for people with pets......perhaps tile floors etc. I know alot of people travel with their pets and the kennnels at WDW are not what alot of animals are used to. Of course there would also have to be a deposit in case of any distruction , many people have very behaved animals as pets.

I said this to someone at Disney 10 years ago. I completely agree!!!!!!

I can go to Portofino Bay with my dog, and it would be nice to be able to stay on-site with my dog at Disney as well.

How about a colonial style resort? Sort of like Liberty Square...that would be awesome...it would be sort of spread out...with each of the different and original colonies as a building...think Delaware and that stuff...:sunny:

Maybe a resort that ties with Epcot and the World Showcase. Different areas of the resort would be themed after France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Mexico.... And the foodcourts onsite can have a little "taste" of each country!

Thought of another after I posted earlier...........how about making Discovery Island a honeymoon retreat? Like little bungalows etc. I am sure they already have power and stuff there. It would be kinda nice to have a place to go after getting married at the pavillion and kinda be private, perhaps 10 or so bungalows.........

I still think someone should take all of these ideas and submit them to Disney! We have all come up with some great ideas.

funny this topic should come up, i've actually thought about it myself.
some ideas i had were:

1. indian themed: beautiful indian and southeast asian decor. indian food, beautiful lush colored fabrics and pillows. reflecting pools, like taj mahal. somehow incorporate animals - tigers, monkeys and other birds. this came to me because i really love the "asia" section of AK.

2. native american themed: native american decor, fireside stories, etc. could tie into the brother bear story.

3. ocean/sea themed. beautiful aquatic architecture (like those strange wavy buildings over in spain) a giant tank in the center with staircases around it so you can walk around it. subfloor tanks (ones you can walk over) and some really interesting swimming pools!

i really love the haunted mansion idea though could get very scary long term for kids, and the hollywood tower. also love the "retro future" idea - the furniture alone for that would be fantastic. such potential.

It could contain princesses but be more akin to a RobinHood, three muskateers feel to attract little boys too.

i'd love to see an "Adventurer's" themed hotel...definitely with character dining with characters like Robin Hood, Buzz, Tarzan (clothed LOL) and other adventure characters that would appeal to not only boys but my little girl too! Princesses are wonderful but i'd love to see some of the fun adventurous characters get some exposure too.

I think the retro-future would be a great decorating theme for the CR re-do since it seems out of date now! Wouldn't that rock?!

I think that there could be restaurants at the Adventurer's resort like Rick's (casablanca) and things like that...stuff for adults and kids too. Of course it would have to have a kickin' pool something like SAB!

still thinking...the gears are turning lol

I'm all for the adults only resort, but...mine would be like a fantasy hotel. Something like the Madonna in California.
You can base the rooms on Disney movies, shows, etc.
There could be a Tarzan-themed room; Little Mermaid room; Pirates of the Caribbean, you get the picture. It would be adults only.

Let your imaginations fly. A little bit of pixie dust for just marrieds, or still marrieds who like to have fun too.
