We just returned from our first trip to OKW and discovered a fun activity there that I'd never read about here on the boards. You know how late at night when the parks close and you're on the bus going home. When they get on OKW property they turn the lights on inside the bus and leave them on as they're going from stop to stop. If you're sitting on the bench seats on the left as you get in the bus you'll be facing the big windows on the opposite side of the bus. Those windows turn into fun-house like mirrors that contort your body into amusing shapes! My 11yo DGD had my 2yo DGD on her lap and raised her arms up and she looked like Mrs. Incredible stretching her arms, etc. It was hilarious! Yes, we got some funny looks, but who cares. We laughed harder that night than we did all trip! I kept thinking how much money I could've saved just riding the bus around OKW at night instead of going to the parks! Okay, maybe we were hot, tired and slap happy at the time. Okay, maybe you had to have been there.... :rotfl2:

Will definitely try this one with 4yo and 16mo DGS in Sept. Should provide for lots of fun. Thanks for the info.

Oh, Jenifer, your post made me smile!!! The same thing happened to us two years ago. We were coming "home" one night and my 8 yr old nephew says "Look, Uncle Ron looks like Jimmy Neutron". We were laughing so hard we cried. I'm sure it had something to do with being the end of the night and we were so tired we were punch drunk, but we still laugh about it all the time. Inf act, my nephew won a Jimmy Neutron plush just a few months ago and gave it to my DH. We are going "home" in 3 weeks and hope to have this fun again!

After reading this post my family tried this on our recent trip. At first the people on the seat opposite us gave us strange looks until they realised what we were laughing at, soon everyone on the bus was doing it and laughing at themselves. :goodvibes

We found it doesn't work on the new buses though as their windows are not curved in the same way.

You paid big bucks for the tickets, room, and transportation, and it was the FREE bus ride that gave you great memories! Too funny! :rotfl:

Yep, you never know where the magic will find you!

Snowwhite7, that's too funny that everyone was doing it too!
