Just got our Disney tickets today
It says on the rear Id required for entrance and reentry
We never had to have ID 2 years ago..
Does this mean we have to take 4 passports to the parks??
I hope not..

Since they now scan your fingers on entry there shouldn't be any need for ID. We weren't asked to show ID last month.

Thanks For that Gill
I actually found my tickets from 2 years ago and it says the same thing on the back I remember asking Omar Do I need ID and he said no!
Just wondered if things had changed
I also seem to remember showing my driving licence to activate my universal pass the first visit there..

I find carrying my photo DL is a great form of ID for when it is required. It's very rare but occasionally I have been asked for it when cashing a TC and the photo is ideal - it just sits in my wallet with my other things.

I would not want to carry my passport round with me I have to say.

Agree with Miffy (I always do) :)

We didn't need our passports in August.

We do tend to Johnny don't we??!! :teeth:

Definitely - actually how did you manage to get 7000 posts?
That is fantastic - every credit.

I had to re-register because my email account changed and I forgot my password, so I lost 460 posts on my signature.

I have been going on all the different forums trying to boost my number up a a bit. ;)

Too much time spent on here Johnny ;)

I wasn't asked for any id in July when using the Ultimate and Flex Ticket. We did carry the passports around for the first couple of days but after that just left them in the safe. Next year we are getting photo driving licences just in case we are asked.

you should always have at least one ID with you in case your tickets stop working....so that you can be identified as the rightful owner..
it happened to both me and my sister, on seperate occasions this summer...
the turnstile couldn't read the ticket because it had become demagnitized...
we had to go over to guest services for a new ticket...we had to show ID to get the new ticket...

in my case it was my AP which was only one week old when it went bad...
in the case of my sister, it was a two day ticket that got demagnitized on the very first day......we were told that mobile phones demagnitize the tickets...cute...

I have an annual pass too and every now and then the computer decides it does not like my fingerscan and the words "access denied" pops up on the gate!. The CM normally asks for ID as lets me through- its happened about 2 or 3 times, maybe i have weard fingers lol.

Also its best to carry ID, you can be asked for it when paying by credit card or if you have the DDE they nearly always ask for ID before you get the discount

Plus if you hire a car you always need your driving licence on you incase the police pull you over! - not that its happened to me thank god!

Yep- i've seen people being asked for ID after their tickets/finger match was rejected.

Just got back from Orlando and was never asked for ID anywhere although I did carry my DL photo id and a copy of my passport, the finger scanners at disney were very tempermental at all their parks and still they didn't ask for id, even a couple of tickets didn't work and they just gave us new ones, they were very laid back...

We carry our photo driving licences - have been asked for ID while cashing traveller's cheques, entering Universal theme parks and while buying alcohol. I'm sure the latter was just to make me feel good, though! :rotfl:

Would rather loose my licence than my passport - and the other benefit is that it's easily stored in your purse/wallet.

BTW - I have never seen them ask for children's ID. :goodvibes

We were in such a rush at the first park when we used our 14 day disney tickets that we forgot who had used which ones lol (there were 7 of us) and we forgot to write our names on the back. So next time we used them it was fun when each and every one kept getting rejected. The cast member was absolutely fine about it and needless to say our first puchase that day was a disney pen ( Buzz Lightyear) to write our names on the back. We never got asked for ID once.
