ID needed for alcohol?

Take it. Im 42 with grey hair and on a rare occasion that a cast member wants to make me feel good I get asked for my ID.

I'd rather not take important stuff like my ID unless absolutely necessary, lest I lose it and have a tough time getting on my flight, etc.

I wouldn't worry too terribly much about losing it, and also about having a hard time flying. They have routines in place to go through if you lose an ID.

My own father doesn't have a DL, state ID, or passport, and he flies (domestically) without a worry in the world. He gives himself lots of time, goes through their rigamarole, and flies. I'm not saying this is a great thing (I am not my father's keeper and he's certainly not going to start listening to me when he's never listened to me before), but the reality is that they have systems in place.

I like a lanyard, especially the Witz brand "sea safe" type hard plastic ones. I got mine from REI. I now carry everything I carried before, plus the MB. MBs are so convenient. :rolleyes2

I've never been carded, but I wouldn't recommend not carrying an ID in case you do get carded or in case of a medical emergency.

I always get carded at EPCOT CS and I am in my 40's. One time, I forgot my ID and was buying a margarita. After standing in the sun for what felt like forever, I was asked for my ID and I snapped on the poor CMs. I think I scared them and they handed over the drink. I felt like such a jerk and apologized. :scared:

I got denied alcohol service at Tune In Lounge because of no ID. it never occurred to me that I needed anything other than my ticket to the world, but it makes sense.

I could tell the bartender believed me, but couldn't serve me without ID. I have not been carded anywhere else on property so I will pretend it was a compliment.

No, you cannot use the MB to prove age. State of Florida requires a government issued photo ID. There is no way they can change it to use the magic bands. Maybe when states or government entities move to fully digital identification methods. A photo of your drivers license is not acceptable, has to be the actual license.

Carry your ID. I've been carded a couple of times and I am nowhere near 21 nor do I look it. If you look young you will be carded everywhere. You would also need it if you have a problem with your park tickets working.

Having a MB doesn't mean that you can carry absolutely nothing else.

Strangely enough, they accepted my Quebec driver's license, which was in French. So yes, its very random!

Under Florida law they are not supposed to accept international drivers licenses. They can accept a passport or a photocopy of a passport if the photocopy is presented with a government-issued photo ID.

I've always been ID'd at Disney but I'm in my 20s and probably look like a baby.

I've only been carded once at Disney.

Usually, I'm w/ DH, & I guess it's obvious that we're over 21 when we're together maybe, especially when the kids are w/ us. I don't know...

Anyway, last time, DH & the kids were doing one of the Phineas & Ferb adventure-things, so I walked on ahead & stopped at the "Joy of Tea" stand in China. I ordered a Green Tea Plum Slush, & the castmember asked me for my ID.

And, of course, I didn't have it w/ me, because I never carry my ID w/ me at WDW. So, I said, "Uh.. I don't have it w/ me, but I can run back & get my husband who has his w/ him..."

He said something like "It's okay" & went ahead & let me have my drink.

Sadly, I don't look 21 anymore (though in my mind's eye I do!) and as others have noted, getting checked at WDW is hit or miss. I've been carded most often at the cider/ale stand at Epcot in the UK. I was also carded more often at F&W; so yes, carry your i.d.

We were just there from May 1 to May 15th. I'm 29 but I do look quite young. I ordered 5 drinks during the trip. I did not get carded at Chef Mickey, Kona Cafe or at the France Pavilion (when I ordered the Grey Goose). I did get carded at Jiko and at La Cava. Strangely enough, they accepted my Quebec driver's license, which was in French. So yes, its very random!

Don't count on them accepting foreign driver's licence everywhere. I'm also from Quebec and most of the time my driver's licence was ok, but other places I got denied because I supposedly needed my passport for official i.d. One place I remember was at the Margarita bar in DTD.
