This might be a silly question..

I am from Canada and here Iced Tea is different than in the States. In the US it is literally tea sweetened (duh lol) but here it is more of a soft drink and tastes very very different. It is literally a staple for me for I always struggle on longer vacations without it. :confused3 (I told you this was a silly question)

Anyway is there anywhere (besides McDonalds) that you can get Iced Tea in Disney. Perferably CS locations in the parks.

Thanks for any info.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, like a soft drink. But when I was at Pop in September, they had 4 kinds of tea at the drink station (unsweetened black tea, iced green tea, and 2 other flavors I can't remember). I think that all CS and TS restaurants offer unsweetened black tea.

I don't think this is a silly question! Iced tea can vary greatly depending on the region!

What do you mean by soft drink? Is it carbonated?

In the southern US you can get iced tea anywhere and I've seen it at most of the TS locations in Disney. I'm not sure about the CS locations though. But what they have in Disney is going to be the standard American style - brewed orange pekoe.

A word of warning - sweet tea in the South is SWEET. I call it hummingbird food. It's like pure liquid sugar with a faint taste of tea. To me at least! If I want iced tea, I order it half unsweet and half sweet.

Thinking about it, when I lived in Switzerland, we used to buy already sweetened iced tea (peach flavored) in cardboard boxes (Tetra Paks). And yes, it was totally different than real tea with sugar in it (like in the US). It was a much lighter color. Maybe now I know what you mean!!!!

But no, you can't get anything like that at WDW. All you will get is real tea, cold.

If you think the iced tea at McDonalds is iced tea, then the stuff at Disney is fine. It's the same stuff.

Iced tea in US does not = sweet tea. In some areas, they will offer sweet or unsweet, esp in the south but I've yet to find a restaurant that doesn't offer both if they have sweet. Many people can't drink real sugar or don't like sweet tea.

Iced tea is just plain brewed tea served cold. If they have sweet on the menu (I'm not sure if any WDW spots do?) they add sugar.

Most of the Disney TS restaurants serve unsweetened brewed iced tea. They offer Splenda, Equal, and Sweet & Low packets for your own sweetening pleasure. I found the tea to be the same in all places I've eaten except Ohana. I'm not sure what's going on there. After one sip, I switched to water. Their tea tasted odd to me.

I wonder if the OP's Canadian tea is like the Nestea that some American restaurants serve from the soda dispensers, rather than brewed? That stuff does taste very, very different and is always a shock to my palette when I get it unexpectedly in a restaurant.

When we stayed at SSR this summer, they served Golden peak iced teas at the resort. I was made by Coca-cola, and i assume they have this brand at all resorts and park locations. usually they sign contracts to serve all same soft drinks and juices on property. I found Golden peak at some supermarkets in the Boston area, it was a little sweet for my taste.

Sam's Club is now serving this stuff!! My main complaint is places dont "brew" tea anymore (it gets dark and bitter if left standing too long - to fight the bitter manufacturerers add a citric/lemon to lengthen the shelf life)

its a "syrup" much like the coffee served at Disney - but some places does taste better than others -

funny how for a long time many posts wanted to know where you could find sweet tea!! (sugar does NOT dissolve in cold liquids - so sweet tea has you adding sugar to boiling water - then making tea with the tea bags - nice and sweet!!)

This was posted earlier this year concerning 'Sweet Tea' at WDW!

They do have 'Sweet Tea' and they serve it in Mason Jars! Believe me, it is delicious if you like sweet tea!

I think I know what you are referring to when you say "more like a soft drink." While in Europe this summer, I was so happy to see I could get Lipton iced tea with lemon - not the new green teas! What a surprize when I took the first sip to find a sparkly drink! When I looked at the can I think it did say "sparkling". It was good but very different. I've never seen this in the States. When I'm out I usually order an 'Arnold Palmer' - half iced tea & half lemonade. Hope this helps.

Most theme park CS restaurants have iced tea, some plain and sweetened, and some just plain. You need to ask, though. For some mysterious reason iced tea is usually not mentioned on the menus.

In my experience the CS iced tea is kind of lousy. I do not believe it is actually fresh brewed tea - I think it is nestea or some other concentrate.

I do believe that most TS restaurants do have fresh brewed tea.

I'm a Lipton fan myself, so none of the iced tea at WDW really pleases me. If I can figure a way to pack my iced tea maker in my luggage I will bring it with me on my next trip.

No pink Sweet-n-Low at Disney. They don't have it anywhere except perhaps some of the non Disney owned restaurants at DTD. My wife has to carry her own stash in her purse.

Being from Canada I know what the OP is talking about, as does my wife. My wife loves fresh brewed ice tea. In Canada you can't get that.

What they serve there comes from the soda fountain using a syrup mix, no carbonation though. Usually Nestea. My mother who lives in Canada brews her own tea.

My wife thought once that at a Wendy's in Canada that they had tea since she saw it on the menu. After I pointed out to her that was hot tea, she wasn't pleased.

The tea you will find at TS restaurants in Disney will be either fresh brewed unsweetened tea (you can add sugar, or Equal), or they will have fresh brewed sweet tea. They probably won't have the Nestea from the fountain. It just isn't a southern thing.

I'm a little confused here. (so what else is new ? ;) )

Why in the world can't you get fresh brewed ice tea in Canada ? I mean, I assume you can make it for yourself at home, but NO one serves it at restaurants ? That seems so strange to me.

Maybe the OP is talking about that BRISK tea that comes in cans ? I like that stuff, but the lemon tastes awfully "rough" down my throat.

The confusion continues....

When we visited Canada back in 1998, I had tea that was almost a cross between lemonade and tea. It was super sweet and did not have just tea in it because the lemonade taste was very obvious. Shocked the heck out of me!

But it was also not like the southern sweet tea they try to give you without warning in the southern US (except of course in Florida which is not really the south).

And this was not simply that Nestea stuff (yuck) in the dispensers around here either.

No, WDW does not have anything like that. It's American style stuff.

Guess I should have explained better. You can get fresh brewed iced tea in Canada if you make it yourself. My mother still does that in Canada. Though most restaurants in Canada don't sell brewed iced tea. They sell either Brisk or Nestea from the fountain.

.

I can confirm this! I leave in a week and I already have my stash packed and ready to go.

There is iced tea all over WDW. The tea at Le Cellier is thick and dark if that is what you mean. All tea I have found in WDW is served unsweeted and you can sweeten it yourself.

you can sweeten it yourself, but sugar does NOT dissolve in cold (one of those science things) that's why 'sweet tea' is perferred - you boil water, and that will dissolve sugar - a "simple syrup"
