Yes, thank God, we made it safely! I have never been so happy to get out of a car in my life. The worst of it was between the Tennessee border and the part of 75 that leads to Atlanta, as they hadn't salted/graveled it yet. I feel so sorry for the truckers, especially the two who were in the flipped trucks we saw. As we approached the city, at least one lane was usually salted/graveled in most areas, although there were still stretches of ice and lots more accidents. After we got to the outskirts of the city and approached Macon, it was more like slushy snow, which I'm used to dealing with. I have never driven in anything like that in my entire life! In some spots, it was literally impossible to stop. I would have just pulled off the road and spent the night there, but we had a car full of cats, a bird, and fish so we had to keep going.
