not only is ice station cool closed... which i thought was only for refurbishment, :confused3 but now i heard from someone that they are reconstructing the whole thing over to be something completely different to go with the theme of the innovations that is around the area.

i can't believe that they would close it. :sad2: that is my favorite place to go when we are there and it is scorching hot out. it was so freezing cold in there :cold: . i would go in there and stand next to the frozen man, until i was cooled off then go get my free soda. the best place to escape the heat!

does anyone know about this? or heard anything?

Please say it isn't so!!! :sad2:

It is one of the most popular places with my DD's. They were so cute when they told me that "Vegtable" soda was healthy.

I'd like to know what anyone else heard.

The only info that I have seen is that Ice Station Cool closed for six-month rehab and will reopen as something called "Club Cool." CocaCola is still maintaining sponsorship.

Well, it was open till about May 26ish. Or, rather open in the morning and then closed about 5pm. Went back a few days/times till June 4 and it was still closed! Never did get an answer to why/how long. I know it needed a little work, the last 3-4 times we have gone the snow machine was not working correctly, and the last 2 times not at all. And the fountains were not all working the last year or so, at least while we were there. I don't drink soda at home, to sweet for me. But I did try a sip of all the ones at WDW! It was always my soda fix till the next trip- or for a whole year!

Hope someone out there will let us all know what is going on.
Did find this at AllEarsNet.com=
Ice Station Cool closed for six-month rehab; will reopen as "Club Cool."

So if anyone knows more, let us all know. To bad it will be closed during Food & Wine! My DH doesn't drink, so we allways hit this place.

I can't believe they closed Ice Station Cool??!!! I have been telling my son how cool it is since last year when we went and it was closed. Bummer! :guilty:

Please, no offense to anyone who loves it, but what surprises me is how popular ISC seems to be!! We rarely go into this "atraction", if you can call it that, because we feel it's really nothing but a 15 foot walk through a freezer and a CocaCola store. Maybe it's the free soda? I don't know, because although I can imagine that kids might find the prospect of never ending free soda incredible, their parents, I figure, might have another opinion. ;)

Call me evil but I am so disappointed because now I can't trick my father into drinking this yummy soda from Italy.

I like it because it's a cool blast in the heat, plus I really like to try the different soda's. Then, of course there's the added BONUS of introducing my family & friends to Beverly! I will never forget DH & I having our parents try it in unison Oct 2003! The looks on their faces once that taste hit them...priceless! (Hey WE tried it once, why shouldn't they???) I was looking forward to my SIL trying it in Sept. Oh well.

.... we feel it's really nothing but a 15 foot walk through a freezer and a CocaCola store.

that is exactly why this is popular. it was an ice cold :cold: escape from the heat, and they gave you free soda...

plus, like others have said, the added bonus of tricking someone into drinking beverly's.

My DS loved ISC . We had to go back many many times during our May trip and he was talking about going again in Dec. Poor guy in May he was looking forward to Cranium Command and that was closed. He'll be sooo upset if they are both closed in Dec.

Hearing the words "Club Cool" makes me a little nervous. I just attended my company's annual seminar, and we had a guest speaker who gave a presentation about Trends. During the speech, she mentioned that CocaCola was planning on installing these "Club Cool" areas inside malls, as a place where tweens and teens could hang out, drink coke, socialze, etc. She said they were planned to be all red inside. Sounded obnoxious to me. I sincerely hope that they have something more inventive and immersive than this planned for what used to be Ice Station Cool! :confused3 I just got worried when I saw the above post that mentioned these by name... :sad2:

Ya I was so disappointed when I saw it was closed off last week. I hope they keep the foreign beverage samples. As far as I could tell no one wanted to drink so much that they were getting free 20 oz sodas.

No offense taken. We love it because my husband is a huge Coca Cola fan who collects items. He always adds to his huge collection when we visit the ISC.

we just got back today. It was closed while we were there. Earlier in the week it was closed but I took a picture of the crane out front anyways. Friday when we went back they had the construction walls up and crane was gone. :guilty:

My family did love it in there. It will be missed if doesn't not come back the same.

I heard that it was closed too, but didn't know why. Now I do. It does bother me too much, but still, you know. Anyway, I liked to walk through the thing and cool off. I didn't care too much for the sodas though. Too bad it is closed. Does anyone know when it will open again? :confused3 :guilty: :sad2:
