Yes, it was nice.....I would not say it's not to be missed...but it was fun..we actually enjoyed the hotel and shops as well. If you are super busy and are cramming this in you may not think the time spent is worth it...I would say it depends how busy you are...anyone else?
we went last year, it was crowded cold and something different to do whil in Florida, the had an ice slide for the kids, gorgeous figurines made out of ice, can't remeber how much it was but it was nice as long as you have extra time
we took a taxi...I am sure a bus would work..but it was time consuming enough taking a taxi from DTD...we thought once we got there we might be able to take one of their buses back to WDW but they only run every few hours...
only as quick as all the people in front of you, when I went it was crowded and everyone was slow taking pictures, I wanted to go a little faster it was FREEZING!

Is it worth the taxi ride? What was the fare and how long did the trip take? I'll only be there for a few days and don't want to spend too much traveling outside the World, if it's not worth it.
My guess would be that the new addition "SNOW" will attract a lot of people so maybe "ICE" will not be crowded. Although we did go to ICE 2 years ago when they opened first thing in the morning and there wasn't a crowd at all. Luck of the draw!
The parkas they give are really warm too! There was chocolate and cookies at the end for purchase. Also OF COURSE theres a picture purchase/gift area at the end. Ornaments etc....
Been twice and enjoyed both times. It's beautiful and something different. Good opportunity for photos. The first year we actually bought our family picture (rarely do that) because it came out so well. We get there early to avoid the crowds. We then enjoy all the Holiday activities in the Gaylord. Never eaten there, try to do this between a late breakfast and late lunch as the restaurants there are very expensive.
My DS took a short video on the ice slide. Click on photo to see it:
