Over a month ago we suddenly realized we had water damage from ice dams on the roof. (what a February!
)
The back 3 bedrooms all had water coming in around the windows, and down through the walls so that it appeared as puddles in the carpet! The front of the house didn't do this at all, just the back.
We ended up cutting out part of the carpet in those rooms, and water/fire damage restoration came in and cut out the bottom of the wall (and remove insulation on that part) from the floor up to a foot or foot and a half, from one end of the house to the other.
Now for the past 6 weeks it's been a nightmare dealing with all of this.
My main question right now is, I was told to get an estimate to fix all the walls, but when I had someone come in they were adamant that the wall should not be "repaired" they need to be completely removed and all new insulation put in. The adjuster said no way that's overkill.
Any experiences??
