Ice Cream - What's your favorite brand and best price?

Braums....but it's a local Dairy. I think last time I looked it was around the 4 dollar mark.

They also have the best milk, it is hormone and antibotic free and very yummy.

We only buy Valu-Time ice cream now.

Valu-Time is the budget brand that is carried at Giant Eagle grocery stores. It's the kind that comes in the 1-2 gallon plastic buckets (not sure the size, but you know the ones I mean. The really big buckets). Anyway, we really like the cookies and cream version and it's only $4.50 (or there-abouts). Volume wise it's at least 2x the size of your standard carton of ice cream.

Turkey Hill on sale 2/$6.00 is the best price I have seen lately.

Blue Bunny- we buy the pail for $4.99 @ Walmart. It may have gone up in price. We haven't purchased ice cream in a while.

Dh bought an ice cream maker last year. One of the old churn style ones. Do you think we have used it? Nope.

Oh my, only one other person has named Ben and Jerry's as their favorite! I can't believe it!

The ONLY ice cream I buy for at home is Ben and Jerry's. Its not budget ($4 for a pint) but SOOOOO worth it.

It's not budget, but it can be had on sale for $2.50 if you get lucky, and it's the only ice cream I can eat one spoonful and put back in the freezer, thus considerably extending the "shelf life" to a few weeks. However, if it's PMS time, all bets are off and I can polish off said pint in 1/2 hour.

I love breyers! strawberry and choc. mint are my favs!
Schwan's has a peanut butter chocolate that is soooo good! I also like their low fat lemon yogurt and strawberry margarita in the summer.
Edy's has great seasonal selections that we enjoy as they come out.
And the big bucket of blue bunny vanilla is great for making milkshakes when we are in the mood.
As for pricing, it was around 2.50 for the preudo 1/2 gallon but its rising rapidly in our area!

To the pp who mentioned the Ben/Jerry Americone.....Im going to look that up!

Every 4-5 weeks here I see Turkey Hill & Edy's on sale for half price (about $3). I really like Turkey Hill.

And I like Giant ice cream - also about $3 when they run their half price deals.

I like Giant ice cream too! I paid $2.00 today...got the slow churned Moose Tracks! Yum!

I also like Turkey Hill slow churned. Wegman's has had it for about 2.99 for the past few weeks.

One brand I'm not fond of is Breyer's. It has a gritty feel to me.

My all time favorite to eat at home is Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia. However, it is very expensive, so my husband bought Blue Bunny Premium Bordeaux Cherry Chocolate. It is almost like Cherry Garcia. A previous poster mentioned it. It is great. Funny, I was just eating a bowl of it when I ran across this thread!

My favorite ice cream is Haagen-Dazs Toasted Coconut Sesame Brittle and it is VERY expensive at around $4.59 a pint. There is nothing like it and it is worth every penny. It is part of the special "reserve" line.

Not usually a big ice cream fan, but have been craving it this last week. I love chocolate peanut butter by tillamook ($5) and cherry garcia by ben and jerry ($3).

And I have to have it in a sugar cone, not the plain, flat bottomed cone. Yummy!
