Is there an ice cream stand near Disney, but not on Disney property, that we could go to?

There's a Ben & Jerry's scoop shop at Pointe Orlando on International Drive. Can't do much better than Vermont's own Ben & Jerry's!

Dick Taylor

There is a Kilwin's in Celebration.

Cold Stone Creamery in Water Town Place.

Twistee Treat across from Celebration near Kobe and Charley's Steakhouse.

Dippin' Dots down a little further on 192 across from Cracker Barrel.

We also love Kilwins in Celebration. It's a nice place to grab a cone and walk the area with the kids. Very charming community!

Is there a reason it can't be on Disney property?
The Ghirardelli at Downtown Disney has the best ice cream in the area. Usually if we eat there we end up skipping dinner because their "two scoop cones" are so huge nobody can even think about eating dinner afterwards. Its a win-win situation because the Ghirardelli costs a fraction of what dinner would, and its loaded with calcium and protein. :goodvibes

Thank you for all of the ideas. We've been to Girardelli's a number of times and want to do something different this trip.

Kilwin's Toasted Coconut ice cream is to die for!

Its on Gatorland Drive, a little under 25 minutes from WDW. It may be a little further than desired but worth every SECOND of the drive. The whole experience so great and the icecream is the best!!!

Great recommendations.

I LOVE Ghirardelli Ice Cream! I always get ice cream there because I cannot get it at home.

Thank you! We visit Gatorland fairly regularly so we will have to give it a try.

Your going to love it. Its made fresh on the spot and the owners are fantastic. Its an awesome experience and honestly the best tasting ice cream we've ever had.

Where is Private Island located?

I wanted add Private Island. It is the BEST!!!!

If you like Private Island but have small kids Abracadabra Ice Cream is better. It has the same type of ice cream as Private Island but in the backyard they have free bounce houses, a swingset, a climbing thing, and a playhouse. All free for the kids to use and burn off calories/energy after the ice cream :-) My daughter never wants to leave! It's in Kissimmee if you leave Gatorland just drive down Orange Blossom Trail, cross 192 into Kissimmee, keep driving on that street for maybe another 5 min and it's on the right side, kind of on a corner, you can't miss it (looks like a small converted gas station). It's about 15-20 min from Gatorland/Private Island. Parking is on the street.
Another vote for Twistee Treat too though. Can't beat the ice cream & prices! There are several around Orlando. The one in Lake Buena Vista I find prices to be slightly higher but not by much.
Kilwins is good but prices seem to be same as or higher than Ghiradelli & I'd rather go there!
