I seem to remember that there is a place that does an ice cream social with characters. Can anyone tell me where this is? Also can anyone tell me if the Garden Grill is good

thanks

Carol

Hi Carol,

Actually, the ice cream social is held in the Garden Grill. Here's a link with more info ... I've never been to it myself, so I'm not sure what its like but it seems like a lot of fun! I've made a PS for my May trip :p

It is okay. Yes I said okay.
We were not impressed.
The ice cream was good, but nothing to write home about.
Beaches and Cream is much better, but there are no characters at Beaches and Cream.
There were not very many people in the place but the characters took forever to come to table. Mickey never came so we had to ask our waitress to send him over.
I called about daughter chocolate allergy and they said that they noted it. When we got there they said they had no note so there was nothing they could do. Everything including the cone has chocolate. The only thing they could do was give her a small dish of vanilla ice cream. Small dish was the same price and our
ice cream. They was not so good. We paid it and went on our way. I was just hoping that they could have done the ice cream with strawberry sauce or something. They could not even offer sprinkles because they had chocolate in them also. DD was bummed, but she was excited because we headed to Test Track.

You know , you don't cry over spilled frozen milk. Ha!Ha!

We just try to fine the good in everything. DD enjoyed getting to turn around in the rest.

Hope this helps!

We did this last March and LOVED it! Best money we spent - for about $7/person, we had a delicious ice cream treat - we thought the vanilla bean ice cream was fresh and flavorful! We must have hit it on a good day - there was a ton of chocolate in the sundae - chocolate lined cone, chocolate 100 YOM decorations, chocolate sauce, etc. My girls loved the gummy worms that came as part of theirs!

You also get the characters! The character interaction the day we went was fantastic! It was very slow that day, but they all came by at least 2-3 times! We had Farmer Mickey, Chip and Dale and Pluto. Mickey colored with my youngest and Chip and Dale were hysterical! You pay for any drinks you order, but my girls just want water with their ice cream - they gave us water in the Epcot souvenir kid cups!

All in all, it was a fantastic value for us, and a perfect memory as well.

Most expensive ice cream we ever had! Family of four with drinks for the kids over $40.00. Character interaction luke warm at best and ice cream just ok. Ours did have an off taste. Many people rave about it, maybe we just had an off day. However, for that price I will not give it another try!

We enjoy the Garden Grill for lunch. On another occasion we had much better character interaction and a very tasty meal.

I have it booked for us in March. I think it sounds like a good deal for a 'character meal' (even though it isn't a meal). We are doing the 'budget' thing this time, but I also want my kids to get to enjoy something 'special' and different.

I can't wait!!!!
