I know that Capt Cook's has the delicious dole whips... does Gasparilla have an equivalent treat? My DD has a severe peanut allergy, and she loves her dole whips. We are trying to decide whether this trip is GF or Poly... safe treats for her could be a deciding factor.

Thanks!

At the GF I am pretty sure that you can get the PN free cookies and brownies there. If they do have a soft serve it would more than likely be safe as it is at the other places in the parks . I would contact them to be safe. I dont have the contact info handy but someone on here might have it. If not I can look it up.

I am the mom of a PN allergic child as well and I will tell you that I will never stay at the Poly due to the fact they have sooo many PN / nut type foods everywhere. Including a peanut sauce that is put on all the tables at one of the resturants. That kind of residue is put onto peoples hands and then surfaces are touched everywhere and it makes me to nervous.

Not saying that doesnt happen everywhere but the odds are increased in that setting. I know the GF has several options that are safe for a PN allergy. They do have PN butter sandwhichs at 1900 Park fare though so I would skip that if residue is a concern. They could wipe down the surfaces for you though if you had to eat there and its less of a worry than a PN dipping sauce I would imagine. Gasparilla and the GF cafe are safer bets. I guess it depends on the degree of your childs allergy and your comfort level . But definately contact which ever resort you choose ahead of time and they can have special things ready for your daughter. I read on here one time a chef even baked a special batch of safe cookies for one child visiting. They are really great like that.

BTW you can find PN free snacks on Main St in the MK in the bakery in a basket over near the sodas. The Divvies chocolate chip cookies are yummy!

Thanks for the info. We've actually stayed and dined at the Poly multiple times... the chefs have been super attentive. Just trying to decide if this year we should try somewhere new. Divvies are great, but since we never get dessert in restaurants, we like having a "safe" option in our resort. I think we had Dole Whips 5x last trip! DH really wants GF, but if the best safe treat option is at Poly, that is where we'll go!
