Ice Cool Station- Did you hear ?

I missed this when we went in Sept. In May when it was my DH's first trip as an adult I made the mistake of springing Beverly on him as the first one - telling him yeah its good - ok well after that he was afraid to try any of the others and I really wanted him to since some of the others including the watermelon and the Lychee Mello (I think that is what it was called) were good.

We were there in September and no part of this attraction was left. Just a fence and empty space. I did not see anyplace that you could still sample the drinks.

I hope it reopens early! I can't wait to see if it's open in December!!

What is the Beverly?

It always makes me laugh when everyone talks about the beverly drink. My in laws are from Italy and they drink it at home, like it's water. They put it out when we go over to visit, and we have to choke a little down, but to my husbands family its just a drink.

Msukar - Beverly is a Coke product from Italy - it is a rather herbal, bitter soda that most people seem to find displeasing - okay, most find it disgusting

But there are some of us that LOVE it! I would drink it every day if I could get it here in the USA.

Actually, it's the sickly sweet drinks that I don't like Each to their own, I guess.

That's the fun of this exhibit - try them all and see what you like - but don't skip the Beverly because others don't like it - you might enjoy it!

Just got this in my DVC newsletter:

Later this month, Epcot is scheduled to unveil Club Cool, an enhanced Coca-Cola® experience replacing the former Ice Station Cool exhibit.

While the revamped experience will offer a new theme, you'll still be able to sample Coca-Cola flavors from around the world. (So tricking Uncle Earl into trying that curious Beverly soda will continue to be a good time for all.)

Be sure to check out the new area the next time you visit Epcot.

I read this to mean that when it comes back, it will look a lot different but will still have the sampling. Not that you can still sample during the rehab. I might be wrong, but at any rate I'm hoping it'll be back up by January. We've never visited before!

I hope it will be open when we go. It's so nice to stop in there for sample drinks. We had just come out of there last April and there were two older ladies with a young child in a stroller just sitting down on a bench near the back exit. They both looked hot and tired so I went up to them and asked them if they knew about Ice Station Cool. As it turned out, they didn't and were so glad to learn about it. They were from the UK and they said it was wonderful to find out you could get something "free" at Disney. I never thought to warn them about the Beverly. I hope it wasn't the first thing they tried because, if it was, they are probably still thinking awful things about me to this day!

I love Beverly! Which makes it even easier to trick folks. I say "try this" and if they are suspicious, I simply down a cup and smile. Works every time Mwahahaha .
