We're heading to Disney in December and we'll be spending two days off-site before checking into the Grand Floridian. Someone mentioned, on another thread, seeing ICE at the Gaylord Palms Hotel. I did some research on it and it looks like it might be something fun to do. I don't want to preorder tickets until I find out more. Can any of you that have gone to it, fill me in on what we can expect to see, how long it takes to go through it and was it something fun. Any pictures would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Janie:)

It is great, something everyone should do at least once. Too many pics spoil the surprise...so I won't post any.

We pre-ordered our tickets, printed them at home. Worked out great.
Gaylord Palms is a fantastic resort..are you thinking of staying there before your GF stay? If so you will be spoiled.

Webray,
I'm a little confused about tickets. On their site they say it's open from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. So if we get tickets, can we go at any time during the day we select? Also, do you have to pay for parking?

We haven't made our off-site arrangements yet. We usually stay at Buena Vista Suites when we stay off-site. If the Gaylord Palms has some sort of a deal going on for December, it might be a possibility we would try them!

We live in the area and go maybe every other year. Be warned that the lines are LONG. They started selling a "fastpass" and I highly recommend it because you bypass the never-ending line to get in.

I have a blog entry that discusses our 2004 visit (we were there last year and it hasn't changed much). There's a link in the blog if you decide that you want to see pics:

Thanks for the article, Inkkognito! It answered a few of my questions.

Glad to help! And that I didn't mention in the blog was that we later found out that if you eat at the Gaylord, they validate your parking and you get a discount.

I talked to a reservation agent there today and she said that it gets very busy in Dec. to the extent that you sometimes have to reserve a time to see the exhibit. Maybe call Gaylord and ask how your dates look. She did say that some are close to being filled.

How long does it take to see it all? Can you go through it in about an hour, or two?

Great blog!
And thanks for the tip about eating at a restaurant and getting the free parking! You're a gem!

Noting this for our first week of Dec trip to Orlando!

It doesn't take long to see it...an hour would be more than adequate. The waiting in line to get in is what takes forever unless you buy the fastpass. When we went last year, the line was well over an hour just to get in...we ponied up the extra $$ to get in right away.

We loved it ! Prepurchased our tickets, got there early in day, but filled up quickly.

Exhibit not long, so we backtracked and went through again. Got some great photos. Well worth it for something different to do.

We then spent hours exploring the Gaylord Atrium and doing the Gnome Scavenger hunt.
