Has anyone been to this resort? The TA recommended it to us..She has been there...We want to take 14 adults (family) for 5 days..
Could we do this ....this Jan. for around $1000 each w/airfare?

we went to the lindo over easter. we enjoyed it very much - and i have to say that we (at least I) am somewhat of a hotel snob. The grounds itself are beautiful - the lindo is much more geared towards families - there are other iberostar sister reports that flank the lindo and those staying at the lindo have access to all of the amenities offered at all of those hotels. The nice part about the lindo is that the pools are great! my daughter (4 years old) loved the wave pool - the lazy river is not much to be said of....but we did go in it. The restaurants are also decent (considering its an AI) but i believe there are 7 different sit-down restaurants to select from and a few buffet restaurants. I will say that if you want to go to the sit-down restaurants it would be to your benefit to make ressies prior to your arrival (if possible) or immediately upon arrival (we waited until after we arrived and had some difficulty getting ressies. We did find, however, that the restaurants were very accomodating to food requests/dietary requests. Also, do not miss the ice cream bar.

The only downside, in our opinion, was the kids club. After going to the kids club on the disney cruise - nothing compares....we went to the kids club to check it out and were not impressed whatsoever. in fact, after visiting, we decided we would NOT use the kid's club (not that we really wanted to - it was more our daughter who was interested) b/c there are simply too many kids and not enough supervision.

All in all, we found the value of the resort to be great - we enjoyed it immensely....let me know if you have any questions

$1k might be pushing it. January is high season in Mexico. If she's recommending it, hasn't she already checked to see that it's within your budget though?

The Lindo is a great choice. You'll have access to the other resorts in the Playa Paraiso complex, with the exception of the Grand.

The Maya (its sister resort) has a restaurant exclusive to only Maya guests, so Lindo guests wouldn't be able to eat there, but other than that, they're welcome at restaurants at every resort with the exception of the Grand, which is adults-only and exclusive to those guests only. On the other hand, while the Maya costs a tad bit more than the Lindo, you have access to all restaurants within the complex, again, with exception to those at the Grand.

My family heads there every December. They stayed at the Lindo the past several years but switched to the Grand this past year. Both are wonderful.

The Grand is fantastic. We usually stay there every year for our anniversary.
