it is quiet scary that someone finds it scary:confused3.

It is so cute and relaxing.:woohoo:

I think it's both cute and annoying. I think that it is a cute ride because of the dolls and the message that the song is sending to children, that we are all the same. However, the annoying part can sometimes be the song ;). It's a small world after all...

Scary??.........no not unless you have a fear of dolls! :rotfl2: Then I guess it would be down right frightening. lol

I have to say as a child all I wanted to do was ride this ride and didn't get the chance until I was 40, now I can safely say I rode it but it is better left as a child thing!! (man I had that song in my mind for days!!) :scared1:

The repetitive song is definitely annoying. The repetitive song is definitely annoying. The repetitive song is definitely annoying. The repetitive song is definitely annoying.:rotfl2: Scarey, maybe like all those little doll eyes are WATCHING us? OMG, there must be a story here. You're riding along and the ride stops. You are forced to listen to the song over and over. All the doll eyes are watching you. Oh wait.... that happened last trip!!:scared1:

I can't imagine anyone saying it is scary unless as a joke. There is nothing at all scary in it unless you have a fear of dying from overexposure to cute. Most people make a big deal about the song, but, truth be known, they all love it and return again and again.

That is true they could be joking. But I mean scary is like the Haunted Mansion. lol. The song is also annoying too. They should change it and tell why its such a small world lol. Keep on posting guys...love your POV.

I'd say cute, bordering on boring. If it was annoying, I wouldn't go on it.

Scary? Kind of like some people are afraid of the clown pool at BW?

If you have read the book "Kingdon Keepers", you might possibly get a little freaked about IASW. There is a chapter where the dolls come after the main character, and they are a little scary. Or if you have a doll phobia- those lifelike little faces, those eyes staring, staring, RIGHT AT YOU... :rotfl:

I personally love IASW . I ride it as many times as my DH and DD will allow when we visit WDW. I see a new detail or costume every time. I even love the song- have it as a ringtone on my phone.

***JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW I AM NOT MAKING FUN OF YOU WHO ARE AFRAID OF IASW. IM JUST CURIOUS AND WANTING TO HEAR POVs. PLEASE DON'T BE OFFENDED. I NEVER READ K.K SO I NEVER KNEW ABOUT THAT. SORRY IF IT SOUNDS LIKE I AM MAKING FUN***

DGD(4) chose IASW as her favorite ride!!! While we were riding it for the ??th time, I looked over to see DGD moving her head and arms like the dolls!!!!! It was so funny. She was immersed in the ride! (Hmmmmm, maybe hypnotized............ that's scary. LOL)

I just couldn't get her to love POTC, MY favorite ride!

I find it completely annoying and a little disturbing but then again, I think dolls are freaky. :confused3

My DD who was 4 the last time we were at Disney asked about halfway through if it was almost over, she found it a little dull.

Maybe they mean scary as in creepy. It can be a little creepy after awhile, like if you get stuck. I love it though.

Well, here's how I look at it:

- You're on vacation
- You're at Disneyworld
- You're taking a slow, relaxing boat ride
- You're in an air-conditioned building
- You're on vacation
- You probably didn't wait very long in line
- You're at Disneyworld
- There are things to look at that you don't see everyday
- Did I mention that you're on vacation at Disneyworld?

There could be an air-conditioned boat ride called Garbage Heaps of the World and I would still go on it! Heck, Stitch didn't even annoy me. I thought it was funny. I was at Disneyworld! Granted, some rides are better than others. But I like to experience everything and as long as I'm cool, relaxed and have a place to sit, I'm happy!:)

I adore IASW. If nothing else it brings back fond memories of my childhood. It was our daughter's favorite ride last year too. A friend of mine found a pair of the "kids" from the ride at a flea market near LA a few years ago! She collects "regular size" dolls and so they go in great with her decor, I think it was an amazing find. She said they were only like $50 a piece!

Cute - yes, Boring - not really, Annoying - just a bit, Scary - only if it breaks down and you have to listen to the song too long.

IASW is my go-to.

If I'm getting too tired or stressed at MK, I head to IASW and it revives me.

If the kids are getting too tired or stressed or acting like they've never been taught how to behave, we head to IASW.

It gives us all a little time to relax and get back in the Disney spirit.

On the Garbagetown idea....DH used to tell DD7 when she was younger and throwing a fit that they don't let babies into WDW. She would straighten up and be a "big girl". That was about 4 years ago.

Of course, when we went to WDW, there were babies everywhere. DH told DD that those people had to get special permission to bring the babies there.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thank goodness she doesn't remember that because we just had a baby in April and we are planning our next trip to WDW. She's probably ask us where the permission slip was.

Scary, only if you have a fear of dolls.

I would say a little annoying and looooooooooong!! It is a nice relaxing boat ride in the AC but I keep thinking "is this the end". DS6 (at the time) asked why they kept singing the same song over and over:confused3

It is really cute though and I would say a must see, at least once.

I think it's cute. Riding through one time it's not boring or annoying to me. When my oldest DD was 15 months old, though, while we were on the ride, it started pouring down rain and the people exiting the boats would not leave the building. We were in the "doorway" between the last room and the room with the flowers that say Goodbye in all the different languages. We could hear the CMs keep saying please exit the building when you exit the ride, but SO many people didn't. Seriously, we were stuck there for some 20 minutes listening to the Song and the CM saying over and over again, "If you have exited the ride, you MUST exit the building." Now that I think back, I was probably more annoyed that the people wouldn't leave the building than the song.
