I wrote my frist trip report!!! Complete with LOTS of Pics!! Updated 6/30

Wow thanks! I have been trying to take interesting pics since we already have a bunch of DL already.

I hope to have some more up tomorrow!

I am really enjoying your TR! popcorn::

Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to more!

I was determined to make use of EE, even if no one else was going with me. I was also a little excited to go to DL for the first time alone. I told DH I was going, he said he was going to go, but when I woke him up, he nodded at me and went back to sleep. So I was on my own. :goodvibes

I headed out the DTD entrance from the GCH and stopped by La Brea Bakery for a quick bite to eat. I knew it was a little before 8a when I left the GCH, and I knew I was wasting precious EE time, but I also figured with how we have been going in the mornings, it may be my only chance to eat here. So I got a chocolate croissant and a soda and I sat outside and did a little people watching before heading over to DL.

One thing to remember, don’t forget your charge slip from the DLR hotels for EE. I guess I just didn’t pay attention that I needed it, so all I had with me was my room key. When the CM asked for it, I thought I was going to for sure have to go all the way back to the room to get it, wasting more of my EE time since I didn’t pay attention. No ones fault but my own. However, I told the CM where I was staying, showed my room key, and offered to go get my charge slip. She was extremely wonderful and told me not to forget it next time, and let me in. Whew! I was thankful I didn’t have to go all the way back to my room since it was already 8:15a. I understand why they need to see your charge slip because you get to keep your room key if you want to when you check out. I guess I never put 2 and 2 together, but it makes sense. Anyway I am off on my morning trek across DL!!

I stopped to take a few pictures along my way. I wasn’t in a huge hurry to ride rides. I was interested in being at DL with fewer people and getting some great pics. I figured I get all the picture taking out of the way and then grab a few rides.

It was 8:30 by the time I got to Fantasyland and the wait for PPF was already 40min. So decided to skip and took a few more pics.

Then I thought I would head over to Critter Country since that was one area we hadn’t been to yet. I waited at the entrance to Frontierland from Fantasyland. There were other people there too, but no where near the amount of people that were waiting at the Adventureland or main Frontierland entrance. Since I wasn’t in a big hurry, it didn’t matter to me that I was actually farther from Critter Country than if I were at the other two entrances.

When they opened the gates, I walked through taking some more pics.

The line for HM was nonexistent!

I headed over to Splash and grabbed a FP. Since the ride was walk-on, I decided to ride. I walked through the cue and was in a log with only two other adults. I was in the front. Of course I got soaked! One side of me was completely drenched and the other was not as bad, but still wet. I was glad I had on flip flops for this morning’s trip. I hate wet tennis shoes!

100_1616.jpg

After I rode, I decided I’d get another FP for later. I had about a ½ hour before I could get another one. So I took some more pics and rode Pooh.
100_1617.jpg

I decided to check out Pooh Corner since I knew that was the only place to get Tigger Tails (thanks DISers!!). I didn't get it yet, but I knew it was in my future!

They have lots of great stuff at Pooh Corner in the candy shop. Yummy!!!

I grabbed my other FP for Splash and headed over to NOS for more pics of course.

I made my way down Main Street, there were lots of characters out. My guess is to slow the influx of people every where else, a great strategy actually. They even had the band playing right when you walk in with Alice and Minnie there. I snapped a few more pics and headed over to DCA since it was open now.

I headed over to Soarin’ to grab a FP for later, then headed back to TOT to have an early morning laugh/scream session. Of course I snapped some pics along the way.

My destination!
100_1646.jpg

After TOT, I called DH to check in, and by then everyone was up and moving around and getting hungry for breakfast. So I headed back to the GCH, stopping by Soarin’ to get another FP for later and more pics!

Once I made it back to the room and we were off for a late breakfast. I can’t remember for sure where we went for breakfast that morning, but it was off site.

After we got back, the 4 of us headed straight to DL. We hadn’t been on PPF yet, so even with the 40 min wait, we decided to wait it out. DH and I love this ride, DHBF and BFDD didn’t like it at all. I know shocking! DH and I figured if they didn’t like PPF, there was no sense in staying in Fantasyland to ride any more dark rides. So we decided to head over to Splash and use the FP’s I had gotten earlier. I opted to let BFDD and DH have the passes I got this morning since I had already been on today and with our track record for this trip, who knew when we would make it back to ride Splash since we were leaving on Sat and we had a baseball game for tonight.

We stopped at the JC to see the 8th wonder of the world! DH and I love this ride too. DHBF and BFDD liked it also.

We made it to Splash and it was broken! So we grabbed some lemonade and decided to go back to the GCH for a swim before the baseball game.

We had a great time and made it to the baseball game, even though DH forgot the tickets and we had to go back for them. After the game we headed to In-N-Out for a late supper, then back to the GCH for a good nights rest.

Great update! I love all the awesome pics!

I have been to Disneyland many times and still have never had anything to eat from Pooh Corner. I am going to get me a Tigger Tail and some other yummy treats!

Thanks for sharing! I am really looking forward to more!popcorn::

I hadn't seen Alicia Silverstone (is that her name?) in a while. Nice to see she got a gig as Alice. :rotfl2: (doesn't that look like her?)

Continued excellent pics. I didn't realize the bakery was called Pooh Corner. My DS & I also rode Pooh very early on an EE day & i think the Pooh ride dumps into Pooh Corner. We were the only ones in there for almost 10 minutes. Gonna have to get one of those Tigger Tails next time.

Kiddo got a Mickey Sugar Cookie & I had a white chocolate/macadamia nut/coconut cookie the size of small frisbee. But I know it wasn't as nutritious a breakfast as your soda pop & chocolate crosaint. :rotfl:

hound :cool2: <----is thankful that disney treats are all -0- calories!

Sorry it has been so long since my last update, but we were moving across country, from MO to AZ. I am so glad to be that much closer to DL!! Now on with the show...

Friday
This morning we headed over to Denny’s for a big breakfast and to decide what we wanted to do for our last full day at DL. My only requirement was to spend as much time there as possible. (So what were we doing at Denny’s? :confused3 I don’t know either!) I also had to catch the EP since we had already seen the fireworks this visit. I felt like I hadn’t spent enough time at DL and it was already time to go home. DH agreed with me and the only other thing extra he wanted to do was get a cartoon drawn of himself at DTD.

After breakfast, we stopped by the room so I could pick up the camera and headed out to DTD. The artist did a great job and DH was pretty happy. While he was being immortalized in cartoon, I took a few pics.

We dropped off the drawing in our room and headed back to take the monorail to DL.

Alice from the monorail.

And more Nemo.

The Jedi Training Academy was going on when we stepped off platform. I snapped a couple pics and we watched for a little bit and headed off to Space Mtn.
100_1681.jpg

100_1682.jpg

Of course the line was crazy long, BFDD didn’t want to wait in any more lines. She wanted to do something else, or go back to the room. DHBF talked to her and explained everything would have a line. DH and I decided to get FP’s for later and go ahead and wait in line (standby was 40 min). I knew we had spent too much time at breakfast and everything would be packed, so I was fine with waiting and just enjoy being at DL. BFDD and DHBF decided to ride Space Mtn, then do a little shopping and head back to the room.

While we were discussing our options, I caught these guys on the Matterhorn!
100_1683.jpg

After our ride on Space Mtn, we grabbed some frozen lemonades and caught these guys. They were pretty entertaining.
100_1686.jpg

DHBF and his DD headed off on their own. DH and I decided to hop on the Matterhorn and take on the abominable snowman. The line for this one was long, but it went pretty quick since they had both sides open.

We decided to wonder over to Splash Mtn since he had yet to ride it. On the way we grabbed a corn dog for lunch before heading over to Critter Country. We got our lunch and headed over to Refreshment Corner to grab a tablet and eat. While we were eating our corn dog Mary Poppins and Burt stopped by.

100_1698.jpg

After lunch, we headed over to Splash. The line was crazy long here too of course, but we jumped in line anyway. While we were waiting a very wonderful lady walked up and gave us their FP’s for Splash that they couldn’t use. They happened to be for right now! WOW we were thrilled! A wonderful dose of pixie dust for us! pixiedust: We hopped out of line and headed to the FP entrance.

We had a great ride and I was ready for a quick snack. What luck Pooh Corner was right there! DH didn’t know they had the candy shop there. I was more than happy to enlighten him. I had also saw a shirt in there yesterday that I thought DH would like. We looked around for a little bit and then we got in line for a treat.

DH ended up with peanut butter fudge.
100_1699.jpg

I finally got my Tigger Tail! The orange colored choc is orange flavored. It was yummy!!
100_1701.jpg

We looked around Critter Country a little more and decided we wanted to go for a last afternoon swim. We stopped by Indy and got a FP for later and headed back for a swim.

After our swim, we used the GCH entrance to DCA for our last time this stay to catch the EP. We got pretty good seats in front of the ice cream shop. I stayed there while DH went off in search of a snack to enjoy while watching the parade. He returned with a chocolate croissant for me and I can’t remember what DH had. We sat people watching until the parade started. It was wonderful as always. I tried to take some pics, but ended up just taking video because the picture was better.

We beat feet over to DL. We caught the last part of the fireworks as we made our way to Space to use our FP’s from earlier. However, we didn’t realize it wasn’t time yet until we got to the CM and we still had about 30 min before they were good. We snapped this pic and we decided to use our Indy FP’s instead. So we headed back to Adventureland.
100_1731.jpg

There was a very short line for JC, so we rode it, then hopped in the FP line for Indy. After Indy we headed back to use our FP for Space.

After Space we just took our time going back to our room. We walked around and enjoyed being at DL. We took a couple more pics and soaked up every last bit of DL that we could. We were pretty tired and I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Saturday

I had planned to get up early and do some wondering around Main St before we had to leave, but I didn’t make it. I was so tired and I hadn’t packed anything. So we slept in, grabbed some breakfast, and packed up our stuff. I did head down to the gift shop in the GCH and grabbed a few little things. Earlier in our stay, DH had bought a GCH beach towel for him and he got me a Mickey camera case. It was really nice. I wanted to see what else they had there.

Our flight home was OK. We were delayed in Denver for about an hour, but we got to eat supper and relax, well as much as you can in an airport anyway.

Overall we had a pretty great trip. It was fun to get to go with DH’s best friend and his daughter. Although I thought she would be more excited, but since we have gotten back she says she had lots of fun, so that is all that matters.

I didn't see any Dream Team CM's, but I wasn't hunting them down. I did see a few people with Dream Ears and FPs' though.

I can’t wait until my next visit!! Which I found out yesteday would be a quick weekend visit in July! I am excited and so glad we moved from MO to AZ!!

I was the same way. I thought Pooh Corner was just a gift shop. Thankfully I was enlightened on the DIS!!

:thumbsup2 Great TR so far... Love the pics and I can't wait for your next installment
