After having the priviledge to be at the Space Center this past summer, this really hits home the wonder and amazement that you get when you are there. I bravo all of you for the planning and the carrying out of what IS important history! When I was younger I wanted so much to be an astronomer and then I wanted to work for NASA. My dreams never came true and won't, but it was something that always sits incredibly near and dear to my heart and something that I find has been great to share with my daughter who has become fascinated with space as well.
When we were there we did the tour that took you out to the area just away from the launch pad and it was saddening to know what happened several times - astronauts did not make it home. And then to go to the Astronaut Memorial just broke my heart but also made me feel proud that we live in a country that explores.
Thanks so much for doing this Shirley, Pete and all!!!! Wish I could have been there!
