Hi everybody! I would really like to join in with you all during your weight loss challenge. I really need the support.

My name is Melissa
I am 30yoa
Mom of 2 (Caroline 3 and Nicholas 4 months)
I work fulltime (midnight shift) as a Police Dispatcher
My current weight is 174 striving for 140

I have got to get this baby weight off! I am miserable.

I have been doing WW for the past 2 weeks. The first week I lost 6lbs. This past week I lost 1lb. I thought for sure that this past week I would have lost more than a pound :-( I was really bummed. I hope that by adding the exercise program that I will loose more than 1 pound a week. I am really hoping for 2. I think that I am doing really good with my daily point intake. It seems that I average 24 a day. I would like to go down to 22, but I don't think I am ready for that yet.

I just started my exercise routine....Eliptical machine for 30-45 minutes and then a weight lifting program afterwards. I am planning on doing that routine on the days that I work because all of the equipment is there. On my days off I am going to try and get on the treadmill and do some sort of modified weight lifting. This is the first time that I have actually enjoyed working out. I just got so bored with doing the treadmill only.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I hope I can get one of those fancy footers one day. Another one of my goals :sunny:

You are doing really well ~ Losing 7 pounds in two weeks. Hope you have added your first clippie.

I usually find that the first week is the biggie for weight loss and then it settles down to about 1 - 2 pounds per week.

Onward and downward.
 
Hi Melissa:wave2: and WELCOME! So glad to have you here! I think it's great that you've lost 7 pounds so far--you're off to a terrific start! There are a lot of people here doing WW and I know they'll have some great advice and tips if you need it. WISH is filled with people doing different programs or maintaining, and were all here for each other--it's such a nice place to be! Congratulations on your committment to a healthy lifestyle, Melissa, and do post often--we want to hear all about your progress! :grouphug:

Welcome to WISH and Weight Watchers!! I love WW's and the more you do it, the easier it gets.

7 pounds in 2 weeks is great! Keep up the great job. I also find that I loose anywhere from 1-2 pounds a week. Once in a while less, and once in a while more. Don't get discouraged by a 1 pound loss. The main thing is it's going in the right direction. Onward and downward.

We just LOVE new WISHers ... as Katholyn would say, "another person added to my support group here". I am right now around your current weight, and getting to 140 would be heaven. I started at 35 lbs heavier than I am now (that was last March) so I can certainly tell you that what you're striving for is very attainable, and with the plan you have already put in place, you will be there in no time. Just remember that this weight did not go on you overnight, (took me 11 years to put it all on), so coming off at a moderate pace is a good thing 'cause it increases the likeliness that you'll keep it off in years to come :) And don't forget to drink all of that water ... I use the formula, take my current weight, divide by 2, and that's how many ounces I should be consuming on a daily basis.

Hi Melissa, welcome to wish. I just joined myself a little over a week ago and it's given me so much motivation. Even on days where I am not feeling quite as motivated, I sign on and read about other people's accomplishments and WOW I'm ready to be one of them, I get that old "if they can do it, there's no reason why I can't, all I've got to do is get moving" feeling and off I go that afternoon to exercise. I'm also a mother of 2 and needing to lose that baby weight, and I'm green with envy that you have access to some good workout equipment, you should be toned and trim in no time especially when you are off to such a GREAT START! :Pinkbounc Congrats on your good start, and I'm glad you're joining in! WISHing you onward and downward!

so glad you decided to join us :) I too am a WWer (unofficial) and have utilized my WISH support group for almost a year now! wowsers!! 1-2 lbs per week is a good amount per week to shoot for -- too much too fast isn't the best way to keep it off!

PD to you in your new healthy lifestyle! Be sure to post when you are feeling down as well as up on your journey - it helps to know i'm not alone!
