Been a stay at home mom for almost seven years now since right before my oldest was born and today I worked outside the home and got paid! (Although it was very little!)
They asked for subs at my youngest's preschool and I called yesterday to sign up. This morning I got a call - rather quick, don't ya think?!?
Cute little kids, I helped out with the young threes. The hours couldn't be more perfect! Oldest was in school and I took my youngest with me and dropped her off at her class next door. I was thinking about assisting at a preschool once my youngest starts Kindergarten in a couple years and this was a nice start!

Just wanted to share! :hyper:

Congratulations! It sounds like the perfect arrangement. :Pinkbounc

Congrats! That's the kind of thing I'm thinking about doing when my youngest gets into school. She'll only be 1 on Thurs. so it will be a while! LOL! Then I can be home when they all get home from school.

When my youngest was little, I went from subbing to teaching two days a week. Worked out great and produced a little $.

I would love to do that if my daughter starts preschool. I had taught at a preschool before with two year olds up to elementary and it is fun.
What did you do in your classroom today?

I've also done this at our preschool. I like it a lot and a good way to make a little extra $.

Congrats :jumping1:

I love little children and that sounds like so much fun. I worked at a preschool part time in high school and college.

Thanks everyone. I hope they liked me. I would like to keep subbing until my youngest goes to Kindergarten, then maybe I can get a more permanent job at a preschool, hopefully there!

It is great, I leave the house around 7:30 to take my oldest to school, then preschool starts at 9:00 and goes to 12:00, 1:00 if it is a lunch bunch day. Then my oldest gets home from the bus at 2:30. How perfect! Both the school and preschool are ACROSS the street from each other and both are about two minutes from my house. Couldn't ask for a better set up.

I am on the sub list for only the days my youngest goes right now - three days a week. I really hope they use me again!

My youngest did pretty well with me there, her class was on the playground the same time as us and it wasn't a problem.

mommytotwo, it was a busy day since it was music day, but we did centers including play-doh, snack, playground, group time and a craft - making sheep out of cotton balls. That age is really cute, they still look like babies, but are getting more independent. There were ALOT of potty trips, though!

I subbed at my kid's preschool too (and now I sub at their elementary school). Jobs come up every year or so at the preschool and I always get asked. I've been tempted because preschool is a lot of fun - it just doesn't pay as much as my other options.
