I won't give in till I reach the end... and then I'll start again (comments welcome)

Rationally I know. It's just hard when that's the first thing that pops up on your watch when you finish your run. And I've never figured out how to deactivate that feature. I've tried. 😋
Maybe I'm just a weirdo, but I don't even look at my stats on my watch when I finish. I might glance at the distance or average pace, but that's not the norm. Once the run is synced, I'll look over the workout on my phone. If it's really getting in your head, try that. I haven't noticed vo2max in the workout screens.

Thank you to winter sunshine,
Is this real?? I swear I haven’t seen the sun in weeks. It’s getting to me.
Sorry for all the readers, my training journal has probably been depressing in the last few weeks.
Don’t apologize. Your training journal should be real, and we are all here to support you! Tell the kind things you tell me in mine to yourself <3

I solved my issue by deactivating HR monitoring on my watch for a few weeks. I'll go solely by effort and look at my watch as little as possible.

Sorry to hear you’re having a tough time right now. It sounds like a good plan to separate from the stats a little if they are adding to the stress. So many of my runner friends who live up north seem to be struggling right now. The cold, the snow, the lack of sunshine. It seems to be getting to everyone. Hang in there. Hugs!

Back to Princess!

I'm back on the running bandwagon (never really got off). Running wise, things are better now since I'm not monitoring my HR. The weather hasn't been cooperative in letting me hit my paces.

  • The storm that hit the Northeast was bad but not so bad. Worst thing is that temps spiked than plummeted, which left the streets full of snow and ice. I hope the road conditions won't stay that bad for long.
  • The Feels Like was -6F this morning, which doesn't seem quite as bad as what others got in Colorado or Wyoming. Yikes.

On a sadder note, I have to say goodbye to my fur baby, Zorro. She's the "z" in my azrivest handle. She lost a lot of weight in the last month. Based on her blood analysis, she has chronic renal failure, so the vet is strongly suggesting we put her down. She's been with me for the last 16 years. I adopted her right out of university and she's been with me for my entire adult life, even longer than my husband. It's breaking my heart to have to let her go. At least she isn't suffering.

Here she is helping me with my core challenge last week:

This is her when she adopted our other fur baby, our 110-lb Newf Abby, in 2009:

The house is gonna feel so empty without any pets.

I'm now enjoying my Holiday time off to spend time with her and my family, before we say goodbye in 3 days.

My tribute is MW but I am also doing a different Belle for PW! I think it’s a lovely idea.
