I wonder if staying at DVC on Pts can be a disadventage?

This year, because of various reasons, I recieved GREAT rates for staying at WDW resorts. After staying at Poly concierge last month, we were so hooked that we now have 3 rooms booked at YC concierge and AKL concierge for Xmas/New Year time.

When I was chatting with a CM at CRO while revising our dates, she said to me that they can see all my stays all the way back to 2000. She however cannot see my stay when staying at DVC resort on points. She said that even though they don't have frequent stay program, but they tend to be more willing to work with guests who have stayed with them more frequently.

I don't know exactly what this means, but this is the 2nd time someone at Disney said this to me. The other time was with a supervisor who is supposed to be much more senior (long story how I got to her).

I started wondering if this means more chance to get upgraded or get better room selection. Not sure what the answers are.

But then I started wondering if staying at DVC resorts sometimes can be disadvantagous because they don't see you being a regular guest.

What do you think?

With two trips a year using our DVC points, we don't usually have the need for a third trip unless there is something really good going on like the Fairy Tale Package. We might add a night or two on to the beginning at another resort, but not an entire week. And we'll get an AP discount then. We are staying at the Dolphin for one night on NYE, but we made the reservation at the Dolphin website instead of through Disney so we could get the Fed Govt rate.

Wonder why your DVC stays aren't showing up? Last June I called at the last minute to make a one night ressie at CBR, and the person at CRO said "Wow you stay here a lot!" She meant all our DVC trips, mostly twice a year. So I wonder why ours are revealed to them but not yours????

After all the years staying at Disney Resorts before we purchased DVC, not once did we ever receive any kind of special "attention" about our number of visits. It would have been nice considering all the money that we had spent. That has always been one of my peeves with Disney was that frequent guests were never rewarded, much less acknowledged, in any way.

It's not a disadvantage when I consider how many thousands of dollars I am saving by staying 11 nights this Christmas/New Year's in a two bedroom DVC over having two connecting rooms in one of the deluxe resorts. In the big picture of things, I would choose DVC any day.

It is true thought that the more you stay at the parks the less they acknowledge you.
I have friends who go to the parks once every three or four years. (I would die if I had to wait that long between trips.)
They get cards in the mail all the time for deep discounts, like Mod resorts for $79 and AKL and WL for $109 etc...
I have never received these cards in my own name. I did however get one last week in my maiden name that I haven't used since 1987. Not sure how they got that name.
I do get discounts using my AP but those discounts are becoming less and less. You can get a great "for cash" price for a DVC room using your DVC membership, but it is often not available because the rooms are booked by members or put out for public rental. We definately need to be offered more incentives. Peggie
